Minutes of the City Council of Laurel .
19th September 1950
The pity Council of t~iQ City of Laurel met in regular session in the
Council ~'hamber and eras called to order by b2ayor Thomson at 7::30 0' clock P. M.
'T'uesday, aeptember 19th, 1950.
Upon roll call the f'ollowin~ aldarmen answered pre sent::

The minujtss of the last meeting were presented ands ead. It was moved by
Freeburg ~d seconded by ~amee the minutes be approved. `x'he motion carried.
,A delegation from the mire Department ap~~eared before the' Council in
r-egard ~o anew fire truck.
It was moved by '1'ubm~n and seconded by ~ornee that a Fire Truck be
ordered aceordin~ to specifications furnished by the Fire Department, and
advertised for bids. The motion carried.
Barney Hageman appeared before tY~ Council in regard to connec~in~ his
sewer to the private sever line belonging to ~'hompson Y~.rds. , He informed the
Council Ghat he had. the ~errlission of '~hompson Yards, and asked for permission
from the council. Tt was moved by Froebury and seconded by ~omee that Mr.
. Hageman begranted permission for such. ahook-up, after proper signing of eontraot with the City, that he would ~~ar~icipate in tha cost of a sewer on t~xe Sough
Side of P~Za:In Street at some future date. The motion carried.
The Treasurers report for the month oi' July v as presented and read. It
~?as moved by ~'e~zerbacher ~n d Seconded by Romee the report b~ a,~?~ oved. The
motion carried.
The 'ti~~.ter report for the math of August was presented and r cad. Tt wa9
moved by Romee €n d seconded by Fc;uerbacher the rQpor~ be a~:~proved. The motion
carried.
The Clerk's report Por the month of July was presented and read. I~ was
moved by lubr~an and seconded by Free~ury the report be approved. The motion
carried.

read. It was moved by ~''reebta.ry and seconded by ``omee the report be approved.
The motion carried.
A letter from Nl. F, ~r7arch, applying for a position on tl~~ ~'olice r~orce was presented and read. The latter wag planed on file.
A letter from Charles V~ood, asking an increase in pay, was presented and
read. The letter was turned aver to thQ Police committee for recommendations
and consideration.
An application fora permit by Roy Edwards to build on toresent residence 1~x~.. of new material on concrete foundation, on Lots 3 & , Eilock 12,
Laurel Heights Subdivision, at ~n approximate cost of ~1.~.~0 was presented. I t
was r;ioved by ~,reebury and seconded by Romeo the perriit be granted. The moti on
carried.

avas moved by Freeburg and seconded by Feuerbacher the perr~.i~ be granted. The motion carried.
An application for a,;permit by Mike ~egmiller to build on lOx1~.}. room and
an 8x12 room to present residence, from used m~ ter3.a1 on concrete foundation
on Lots 6 & 7, Block 30", ~11ard subdivision, at an approxirn~ to cosh of X125
was presented. It u~as moved by Romse and seconded by McCt~~m~~k the permit be granted. The motion carried.
An a~:~plication for apermit by NTames ~tollman to build a garage-house
20x30 of cement blocks on concrete foundation on Lots 11 & 12, Block 17, Laurel.
heights Subdivsion, at an appro~mate cost of X750 wag presented. It was moved
by ~`ubman and seconded by FeuePbacher the permit be granted. The motion carri~.
An application f'or a perrriit by Joe Stoltz to remodel front of house at
310 E. lst Street, and re-single roof at an approximate cost of X300 was
presented. Tt was may ed by Tubma.n and seconded by t~omee the permit be granted.
I'he motion carried.
An application for ~ pe~riit by John M. Hoapel to build a house 20x50
~1cLth attached garage, of new rra tarial, concrete f oundation, on Lots 11 & 12, o
Block 6, LaLmel jjeights Subdivision, at an app oxirate cost of X2.}.500 was presented
