Parker appeared before the Council in regard to Concessions at I the athletic Park. die informed the ~ouneil that the Park Commission had awarded ~ the concession privilege to the V. F. Auxiliary for the amount of X100 Por the I, season. S. larks appeared before the council ira regard to a Citg-Counter Health' Unit. He e~lained in detail, v~.at has been done in other communities under tl~ same set-up, and ghat they propose to do, if such a meastare is established in Yello~vstor~e County. It was mflved by Tubman and seconded bg Mc~s~ us, that the Mayor, Chairman of the Finance Committee and the City ~ttorne~, meet with rnernbers of the school Board, in regard to the Health program. This being the time -set for receiving bids for the sale of Lots 7, 8, 9 & 10 Block 6, Youngs s second subdivision, the City C7e rig presented .proof of publication in the Laurel Outlook and v~a~ instructed ~o o en and read all bids. Bids were received from fob Hamilton in the amount of 530.00, and one bid from Paul Di~mo~d, in t he amount of 196.x(7. It vas moved by Tubman and seconded b~ Fes erb~.cher the bid of fob Hemilton being the best bid, be accepted, The motion carried. The Mayor Mated that this way the time to canvass -the election returns of ~ta~ 29tH, 1950, and thereon named as tellers: ` 'reebury aril Rotr~ee. After reviewing the returns the Committee reported back the following votesz Total vote cast a~ such election was nine (g~, of which number eight (8) voted in"f avor of said resoluti on, and one (1) ballot was spoiled, and that a ma jor ity of the eligible individual employees affected by such re.~lution thereby voted in favor of participating in said Retirement S~'stern. It was moved by Freeburg and seconded by nomee the report of the committee be adopted, that the l~a~c~r and City Clerk be, and they a re herebg ~thorized and directed to execute and sign on behalf of the pity of Laurel with the Board of Administration of the ~'ublic Employees Retirement Systems, of the State of t~~antana, a contract carrying out the purpose and extent of this resolution. Upon roll call all aldermen present voted aye, and said resolutionv as declared passed anal adopted.
