JANUARY 7, 1997

A quorum of three (3) or more being present The following
business was conducted:
First Order of Business; Discussion was held concerning adopting
an ordinance to create a position for a combination fire and building
inspector. The following is a summary of the position to be
incorporated into an ordinance.
1. Job Description; Director of Fire Inspection - Building
Codes.
2. Duties; Inspect all businesses (including Home Occupations)
set forth by the Montana Uniform Building and Fire Codes.
Inspections will be done under the direction of the fire
marshal and fir~chief.
3. Appointment; The applicant must be recommended by the
Fire Department, Fire Committee and then be approved by
the City Council and Mayor for approval.
4. Financing of Position; Subject to findings of the Budget
and Finance Committee.
5. Advertising for Position;' Subject to Mayor's discretion.
Second Order of Business; Ail fire districts will be notified
.in February. They will also be asked to submit signed purchase orders
when they return their signed contracts.
Third Order of Business; The new fire truck has been put up
for bid. Advertisements are out for the month of January and bids
will be opened at the first City Council meeting in February.
