M. 'Tuesday august 7tn, 1951. Upon .roll ca11 the follovring aldermen answered ~resent« Romee Freebur~y Feuerbacher 'Scott- Nic~2anus McCormick. Tubman t{odgers ..The minutes of the last meoting w ere r ead. It wasmoved by McManus and seconded by Scott, the rninu~es be approved. The motion carriQd. Mr. CharlesC. Giblin a~p~ared before t he Council ~o request reservation of sidewalk space for a driveway at the Mill give-in on East Main Street. It was moved bar Scott and seconded by Romee that Mr. ~iblin be ~rant~d temporary dri~tte-in space, as already in use, until more time has been given the matter to study the needs for more permanent driveways. The motion e arried. Mr. A. H. Sanders a speared before the council in r ega~°d t o renewing hi s present 1.'~ water tap on Main north of the City. It wasmoved by ~`reebury and secondedby l~omee that fir. handers be allowed to renew his ~~resent tap, and to replace the line. The motion carried. This being; the time f'or opening bids for Gravel for `S. I. D. #73, the City Clerk presented proof' of publication in the Laurel Outlook, and was instructed to open and read all bids. One bid from Herman ~chessler was received. H~ quoted prices as f'ollo~sw lr' minus gravel at X1.25 per ~u. Yard, at crushor; and 3/~.~.`'" minus gravel at X1.40 per cu. yd. delivered at crusher. It was moved by ~Tubman and seconded by McCormick, that tho bid be accepted. 'l~he mot ion carried. An application for perm fission to tap water main north of .the City limits by Stanleg ~llingston was presented. It w~smoved by Homee and seconded by Rodgers that permission be granted. An ap;~lication for a permit by Victor Hergett to build double garage and Plum~aing Shop of cinder blocks on concrete foundation, size 21.}.x30, on Lots 19 & 20, dock 2, 'ark ''ubdvi lion, at an approximate cost of X1800, and to derlolish lOxL.4.~3 frame building on s one location was presented. It w as moved by Tubman and seca~nded by Rodgers the perrlit b e granted. ~l'he motion carried. An application for a permit by Karl nergett to build an a ddi ti on on house for garage 1bx21~., frame eonstruc~ion on concrete foundation, all new materials on Lots 13 and S lOt of Lot 1~}., Block 6, Young} s second ~uba~ivision, at an approximate cost of X800 was presented. Itwas moved by Rodgers and seconded by ~'euerbacher the permit be granted. ~l'he motion carried. Holland to put down concrete floor for porcha and to build frame roof Frith s~iin~lee, porch size 5x7, new rra terials, on Lots 1 & 2, Block _9. Nutting subdivision, at an approximate cost of X100 was presented. It was moved by Hod~ers and seconded by i~omee the permit be ~ra~nted. The motion carried. An application f'or a permit by Burt Hucera to build a house 35x3?, frames all new materials on concrete foundation on Lots 3 & 1}, T31ock 6, lst ~vent~ subdivision, at an approximate cost of x'11,000, was ~r ssented.
