The City Counci 7~. of the ~i ty of Laurel mQt in r egu.lar session in the
council Chamber and was called to ordar by Mayor Thor~gon a~ 7:30 0~ olock P. M. Tuesday July 3~ 1951 •
Upon roll call the following aldermen answered present

The minutes of the list meeting we.~e read. It was moved by '~ubman and
seconded by Feuorb~char the rlinutes be approvad. T~i~ motion carried.
Mr. Alex Rehm Jr., a~~peared befora the Council in regard to extending
the sewer and water on Second avenue, north of the ~''irst ~"~.venue Subdivision. It
was moved by ~~reebury and seconded by dome e that. Mr. Rehm be allowed t o extend.
the Sewer ~.nd Y~atc~r as requested.: The motion 'carried.
An application f'or a Beer Club License and Liquor License for the ~a~le
Lode :was presented. It was moved by Tubman and seconded by McManus the a?nlication be approved. The motion carried.

the application bo approved. The motion carried._

a~~roved. The. motion carried.

coming year was presented. 2~ was moved by ~'tzbman and seconded by dodgers the aa~plication Yee a~praved. The motion carried.
Vin. application for E3esr and Liquor licenses for the J & B Bar for the
coming year was pr~~ented. Tt ~uas roved ~~y Tubman and seconded by Feuerbacxler
the a~plicati on be araproved. The motion carried.
~ln applicati on for Bner and Liquor licenses for Slicks s Bar f'or the coming year was ~re~ented. It vvas moved- by ~'~omee Anc~ se~ona~a by McManus the
ap~al~ztion be approved. The notion carried.

An application for Baer and Liquor license~~f'or the coming dear was

approved. The motion carried.
The Library report ~'or the month of June wa:~ ~areserited. It was moved by"
Romee and seconded by ttodger~ tY~e report be approved. The motion carried.
The report of the Police Judge for the montY~. of June was presented. It
` wasmoved by McManus end seconded by Rodgers .the rsp~rt be approved. "Z`he riotion carried.
The reports of the Policemen for the month of June were. presented. Zt
was moved by 'l~ubman and seconded by Mc~anus the reports be aa~iroved. The motion
carried.
Two. €~~plications for the Volunteer Fire Department were.. presented. one
was Clarence Boyle, anal the. other application was from Hobert Morris.. It was
moved by M~Nlanus and secdondod by Feuerbacher the ap~li cations be approved by the council. The motion carried.
The vua~er report for June 20th was presented and read, It was moved by
Freeburg and seconded by ltome~ the report be a~~aroved. rl'he motion carried.
The jxealth Officers s report ~'o~ the month of May was presented. Tt was
moved by 'I'ubman and seconded by ~'euerbacher the report be approved. The motion carried.
. CR D INANCE NU . x}.28 .
Ordinance No. ~.28, '~eing an Ordinance re~ardin~ sidewalks and curbs in the First Avenue Subdivision, was presented and r ead. Tt was moved by McNranus
and seconded by Romee that Ordinance No. L~~8 be passed on first reading. Upon
r _ roll call all aldermen present voted "aye'. and ordin~nee No. 4z8 was a e~la~ga
provisionally-passed.
~n application for a permit by I~il. A. Moser to build a 16x22 frame gat~age
on concrete foundation of new materials,. on Lots l6 & 17, Block 9, fast Laurel . Subdivision, at an ~.pproximate cost of $~8J0 was ~es~nted. It crag moved by j~omee
and seconded by Freebnnry the permit be granted. `j'lie` motion carried.

~,ara~e on concrete Foundation, to be of used lumber on Lots 11 & ~ 12, Bloek
33~ ~A~-lard ~iubdivision, at an approximate cost of X150 was presented. It w as
moved by Tubnlan and seconded by .od~ers the permitbe granted, The motion. carried.
This boin~; the time for opening bids for I. D. 7~, for blaektap
strip, ~t;ho ~lerl~,p~esented proof of publication. in tho Laurel Outlook, and way
instructed to open and read all bids, One bid in t h~ amount of ~8~.~.38.50 w i~h
the City to furnish oil, gavel and a grader with patrol operator, way
received f rom the Blacktop Construction Company,: After consideration by the
Council it. w~,s moved by ~'reebury and .seconded. by Ro~ree that the bid of the
Slacktop ~'onstruc~ion be aceex~ted. The ia~otion: carried.
It was moved b~ ~'re~brary and seconded by rtoznee that the bid of the
Farmers Union Central ~xchan~;e for oil for. I. D X73 be accepted. The
motion carried.
It was moved by Freok~ury and seconded by~ Ft'ornee that i;he Clerk be instructed to advertise for bids. for gravel. The motion carried.

be invited to ap~?e ar before the Cound l for' an e x~lanation in r e~ard to lets
