M . ~P:ue s day, May 15th, 1951. Upon roll ca11 the following aldermen answered present: ~'euerbaeher Mc~orrnick Seott 1Glaanus F~~ebur~ Romee T ubman The riint~.$es of the lash meeting were read, It was moved by 1~'ie~anus and seconded by Feu~rbacher the m? n~j.~es be approved. The motion carried. Pair. Alex Behm Jr., a~~peared before the Counc3.1 in regard to extending sewer in First ,venue Subdivision, to s ~rvice Lots in Block north of Ninth Street. He also requested waiver extension on second Avenue for 6 lots. It was moved by Freeburg and seconded by ~omea that th.e r e~ue~t be granted with the provision that Mr. Behm be protected on cost of eater line on Second avenue expended, by his submitting written costs of such e xtension. The motion carried: It viral moved by Feuerbacher and seconded b~ McManus th~~ the regu~st of l~r. Hshrn to connect with the ~iai.n Trunk 1Nlater Line north of the City limits- be granted. ~'he motion carried. The Mayor stated that this being the first meeting of tha new Couna3.l nominations ware now in order f'or a Pres3.dent of the Council for the ensuing term. Mr. George McCarmiek was nominated., by Mr. 'l~ubman and the nominat3.on was seconded by Mr. Feuerbacher. Mr. J. J. r~'reebury was nominated by Mr: McCormick. It was mould by ~~ir. ~~omee end seconded by Mr. Mc~~nus the nomin~tion~ be closed. An application f'or a perrlit by Harold Williams to build a house size 37x51 and ~ara~;e 1Bx20, to be brick with frame roof, on concrete foundation on Lots 1I.~ & 15, Block 22, Laurml ~~ealty Second Subdivision, at an approximate cost of ~10~000 was presented. It was moved by FrQebury and seconded by Mc"'anus the permit be gr~.nted._ The motion carried. An applicatign fQr a pQrmit by Vick Sho~Gwell to remodel front of Owl Cafe, change ~vi~dt~~rs to plate glass, change location of door, to have wide board siding on f'rant with casement windows on second floors at an approximate cost of ~1~00 was presented. It was raved by ~jubman and seconded by Fouerbacher the permit be granted. The motion carried. ~ln application for a permit by august Metzger to build a 20x21 frame addition to present dwelling of new and used materials, on concrete foundation, on Lots 3, ~ & 5, Block 2, Lapel Park ~ubdivis ion, at an ayeproximate cost of 1250 was presented. DeGarmo to build ~n 8x10 Frame addition to present dwellirxg, of naw material}, on brick & rock foundation, on Lots ~ & 2, Block lg, Laurel Fisights at an approx3.mr~te cost. of ~2u0 was presented. It was move. b~ Freeburg and seconded by lubman the perrn.it granted, if foundation is made with a concrete footing under the brick and rack. The motion carried. He stated that a traffic eoun~G was planned by the ~ornmission in August to determine the direction of the traffic, and that another meeting would be held in the Fall, to determine whether or not a by-pass would be constructed.
