The City Council of the City oP Laurel met inre~ular session in the Council
Chamber and was called to order by Mayor Thomson at 7x:30 otclock P. M. Tuesday
April 17th, lg jl .

The minutes of the last regular meeting were read. Tt was moved by Tubman and
seconded by Feuerbacher the minutes be approved. The motion carried.
The minutes of the Special meeting of April 9th, were read. Tt was moved by
McManus end seconded by Freeburg the mintites be a;~proved. The motion carried.
A claim for Gasoline Refund in the amount of ~9l~.68 was resented. It was
moved by Feuerbaeher and seconded by ~`'reebury the claim be s~~~ oved. The motion
carried.
The 'treasurer's report for the month of Larch was presented. It ~xas moved bar Feuerbacher and seconded by McManus the report be approved. The motion carried.
The Clerks s report for the month of March was presented. It was moved by
Komee and seconded by Rodgers the report be approved. The motion carried.
An application for a perrli~~ b,y Dave ~ehmicit Sr. to build a 10x10 addition on house, of new ~:nd used materials, r~ith cinder blocks on concrete footings
foundation, on Lots 5 & 6, Block 11, Yellov~stone Subdivision, at ~ appr oximate
cost of X125 was presented. It was moved by Freeburg and seconded by ~'euerbacher
the permit be granted. The rri~tion carried.
An application for a permit by Jake Schmidt to build a 32x1.}.3 frame house on
concrete foundation, of new materials on Lots 1 & 2, Block 1, First Avenue Suk~~d3vision, at an approximate cost of X10,000 was presented. It was moved by
MclbZanus and seconded by H~vmee thQ pormit be granted. The motion c armed.
An application f'or a ~err;~it by C. H. B~.rney to build a 12x20 addition to
garage of riew and used lumber on concrete foundation on S~ Lot 12, and Lot 13,
Block 9, East Laurel Subdivision, at an approximate cost of ~3J0 was presented. It was moved by ~'reeb<~ry and seconded by }tomes the hermit be granted. The
motion carried.
An application fora p~rrnit by James Rollman t~ build a 16x28 convent and
brick garage on concrete foundation, of new materials on Lots 11 & 12, Block 17,
Laurel Heights Subdivision, at an approximate cost of 700 was presented. ~t was moved by k'reabury and seconded by Romee the .permit be granted. The motion c arried.
An a~~licat~.on for a permit by Alex Ostwald to build a 10x20 frame addition
to present building, on concrate Foundation, oP new materials, on Lots & 3,
Block 3, Yellowstone Subdivi lion, at an aL~proximate cost of X700 was presented.
It was moved by r`euerbacher and seconded b~ ttomee the permit bQ granted. The
motion carried.

Ordir~nce ~o. x}.23, limiting tho dime of continuous parkin; of vehicles bet~ree the hours of 8 A. to 6 P. P+1. in the businQSS district to 3 hours, ~.nd ~r~ all
other parts of the City to ~ hours, was presented for final reading. It was moved
by Rodgers and seconded by Fraebury that Ordinance No. 123 be finally passed and
approvod. Upon roll call all aldermen present voted "eye" end said ordinance
was declared finally passed and adopted.
It was moved by ~'~reebury and seconded by H~mee that the expenses of the City
En~ineeac~ ineurrea wh ile a~tendin~ the annual Sewer and Vdater ~'onvention be paid
by the City. The motion carried.
It was moved by Tubman and seconded by nodgers, that the liability insurance
of the City, be raised to X25,000 and ~,~0,000. 'the motion carried.
The City Engineer gave a report on the cost of r e-laying a 2~.}.-Foot strip of
black-top on the City Streets. he estimated ihhat rho ap~roxim~te cost of such
re-laying would be X35 per lob. The trae~ ~~mmittee and the ~n~ineer plant to
check the districts, in preparation for the creation of a SpeQial Improvement
District to ha ve the work done .
