The City council of the ~i-~y of Laurel met in regular session in the Council chamber and vas called ~o order by ~~Tayor 'l~homson at 7:::30 0+ clock P. M.
Tuesday, January 16th, 1951.
Upon ro11 eail the following alderman answered present:

The minutes of the las~'meetin~; were re€~.d. It vuas moved by ~reebury
and seconded by P~cT`~anus the minutes be approved. ; he motion carried.
The City'FEn~ineer ~s~:ated that the bid from fi~1~ ~'acifie Stites Cast Ionr Pipe Company had been a c~cepted, and some chan~;e~ made in the qu~ntitie~
of & 6~~' zn ch pipe had been mach.
The Treasurers report f'or the month of ~ecamber was presented. It
was moved by xodgers end seconded by ~''euerbacher the r eport be approved. The
motion carried.
The C1erk's report for the month of ~ec~rriber was presented. I~t was
movad by r'euerbaeher and seconded by ~.od~;e~rs the re~or~ be approved. the motion
carried.
An a:~plica~ion for a ~aermit by Fred Hilgert to build an addition 7x12,
frame on concrete foundation on present house on Let 18, Block Laurel t~ealty Subdivision, a~ an approx~_mate cost of X500 was presented. Tt was moved by
McM~us and seconded by nod~ers the hermit be ~ran~Ed. The. motion carried.
An application for a renewal of a permit by John W. Nolte to build
4 ~bX34 ~raxnehouses an concrete foundations, on following; Lots:: 3 & 1~, Block 5,
Youngs s second Subdivision„ Lets 5 & 6, Block 5, Lots 9 8c 10, ~3lock 5, all a~ an approximate cost of 9,000 each, was presented. Tt was moved by Rodgers and
seconded by ~'~reebury the permit be granted. The motion carried.
An a_~plication f'or a permit by Henry Kot~pelman to build a house with
full basement, to be 28x34, frame house on concrete foundation and basement,
of new material on Lots 15 & 16, Block 17, Laurel Heights subdivision, at an ap~roxima~e cost of 7500 was presented. Tt was moved by Fe~rbacher and
seconded by rfod~ers the hermit be granted. The motion carried.
An a~~pl3.cation for a permit by ~'helma ~Nhite~k~r to remodel shed l~.}.x21}.,
raise end put on concrete foundation, remodel into house on Lots 16 & 17, Block
5, Youngs Second "~uk~division, at an approximate cost of X1100 was presented. It
was moved by ~'euerbac~ler and seconded by Mc~~anus thQ permit be granted. I'he motion carried.
An application for a permit by David Johnston ~o move present cabin ~o
back of lots at Filling Station at ~.20 Main to plaster building, to be on
concrete foundation, a~ an approximate. cost of T~ was moved by ~~o1d and
seconded by Beuerbacher the ~aermit be granted. The motion carried.
A letter of aA~plic ~tion for positi~sn as Life Guard at the ?~wimming -Pool
by Walter Hall was read. ~e letter was placed on file for future consideration.
A repor~G by .Alderman Freeburg with .costs' and labor for wiring
corrections a_t Pump House was read. I~ was moved by ~~old and seconded by
14icMan.us the recommendations of Alderman ~'reebury be accepted end charged to
Pump House repairs. The motion carried.
I~ was moved by Wol.d and seconded by greebury the general flan for the
office front of tho eater Building be accepted subject to widening a.~pearance
of f'ron~ as suggested by En~in~er and further consid~r~~tion be given to Mass
squares in glass front. The rnoti on carried.
It was moved and seconded we do now adjourn. 'ahe motion carried.
