Chamber and was cal led t o order by Pdlayor 'Thomson at 7:3U o~clock P. M. '1'ue sday April 1, 1 52.

The minutes of t:he last meeting; were read. It was moved Uy FQUerbach~r and
secondod by Freeburg the r:~inut~s ~e approved. The motion carried.
P~Zr. T. tiV. Schessler appeared bef ore the Council in regard to ~r es~ntin~; a 25-foot strip of land to the City to be used for Park purposes. The land at the
present time is north of she City-Limits. die also requested that the City nay
one-half' -t~~ie co ~t of la;~inz; a tivater rain along; the lNest edge of Park. It was
moved by ~'reebLtr~ and seconded by Feuerbacher that t?1~ land must be platted and
brou~~.t into the City lirlit s bQfore any im~rovem~nts aro r~.ade by the pity, at
which t~_me the City would`a ccept the lift of land, and would .develop the City s
side as necessary, to keep paco vuith improver:~ents on West side of Street. The City f~i~torney to draw up ari oz~dinance f'or zoning such property when it is brork~h~

1l~Zr. Stuart Johnson aL~pearod before ~Ghe council represer~tir~ the commercial
Club, in regard to the clew ink of l~Zain Street, as a regular project. He stated
that: it would, at tha present, roquire a tan, wheelbarrow and broom to sweep accumulated litter into piles for pickup b~ ~arba~e truck. rie also presented a
petition with 26 signatures, requesting such project, tivhich. would cost approximate
~2.OU per lot per month. The petition was handed back t o the Club to obtain more
signatures, and requesting that lessees on the south side of Main street be
contracted, for help on such a program.
It was moved by Freeburg and seconded by Scot~l; that the Mayor be authorized to sign such peitition for the City. The r~.otion carried.

on the nor~;h side of warehouse of 1~aurel Trading, and belonging to the City, b e
used for an auto parking iot. The council will Dive the matter Further study.
This being the tide for the opening of bids for clay pipe for storm seuver
in the fast end of the City, the Clerk presented proof' o£ publication in the
Laurel Outl ook, and w as instructed to open and read X11 Yids. One bid from
the Lovell Cla~T Products was receivedin, in which they quoted the following prices
~3.6f3 per foot for 2L~"~ extra stran~;th ~'l.ay pipe, per foot F.O.B. ~Tobsite, and ~3.2
per ~ oot f'or Standard atron~th clay pipe , per foot, F.O.B. jobs~~e. It vuas moved by Freel~ury and seconded by PZcT>Tanus the pity accept the laid of the Lovell Clay

A petition r equesting the City to extend the ~p~ver in tYie alley between
Second and Third avenues in dock 5, of the First avenue Subdiv s ion, and that
same be assessed against the property in taxes, was made by John Hopp el. It v~ as movod by Scott and s econded by t~odgors the request be ~rantsd. The motion carried

Lots 1 & 2, Block b, First avenue subdivision, at an approximate cost of 10,000 vuas road. It was moved by Scott do d seconded by r~'ler~anus the permii~ be Arai t ed.
The motion carried.

remos~el, was read. It was moved by Rodgers and s ecorzled by ~'~'euerbacher the
perrni.t be granted, but it must mast s~c~cifications set; forth by the City Engineer.

A n appli cat ion for a perriit by John Nolte to movo a 28x2 3 frame cottages
from rear of Lots 10 and north 20-feet of 9, Block 7, Laurel ale ghts sub division,
to Lots S and south 10-feet of Lot 9, and North 10-feat of Lot 7, Block 7,
Laurdl Heights Subdivision, to be set on .concrete fourx~ation, with a 12 16 frame'
addition to be built after moving,' to be of new materials, at a Bost of Ap}~roximat 2,000 was presented. It wasmoved by Feuerbachsr and seconded by ~1eManus the
permit be granted. ~'QUr of the Councilmen pr'esen~G voted "aye'*, one voted "no."
The motion carried.

The City ~1erk was instructed to write the Bill nos Gazette in regard to
wire and p~p~~r~l°~trewn around the street. on corner of N1or~t~na avenue; and Main
street. such trash is quitre a nuisance, anal should not be allowed to con tiriue.
