The City council of tho City of Laurel,. met inr~~ular session in the
council Charlber and v~ras called to order by l~iayor ~j'hom~on a~G 7:30 a~ clock
P. IbT. ~uosday, T'+Zar ch 13th, 1.952.

~~he minutes of the last sleeting were read.. It was moved by ~''reebury
~nd seconded by Scott. the minutes be approved. The motion carried.
Mrs. Karl George. appeared before thQ Council in regard to the scouts
building two fireplace grills a~ ;the j~c~ th Par k, S~ie stated that the scouts
would furnish all materials and do Ghe building, that the fretlaces would
be of either brick or stone . Tt was moved key Scott and seconded by `1'ubman
that the Scouts be allowed to build such grills, and that the pity Engineer
be consulted for proper locations f'or the placing of fide fir eplaces The moti on c arrie d.
Mr. J. F. 1~,ZacDonald appeared before the. Council with contract from the
i~ ontana Power Company, and bill of sala, for lighting; system. It was moved by
- Scott and seconded by t''reebury that the contract be accepted and... ~3~6~~r City
Authorities be authorized to sign same, excepting 8 poles on East 1~Zain Street
in:<Speeial Improvement. Lighting District No, lA, `~Yie mot-ion carried.
ORDINANCE N(7. ~-35
OrdinancQ No. ~35, being an ordinance re~ulatiz~; the use of ~#~ater within
the City Limits, on main trunk. water line, and settin~ ~Z}.0.00 'as the cost for
each lot, for connection, vas read. It was moved by reebury and seconded by Scott that ordinance No. x}.35 be passod and adopted. Upon roll call all
aldermen present voted °"aye~~ and said Ordinance was passed and adopted.
RESOT~UTION NO. 76B
Resolution No. 768, beir~ a resolution of 1nterition to Create Special Ir~i~roveme nt Di strict No. 74, for the placing of 6-inch curb €~nd 18-inch
gutter `on all st3~eets and avenues on tho youth Sido of Laurel 'sues presented
and read. It was. moved by Freeburg and. seconded by M~A~ormiek that Resolution
No. 768 be passed and approved. .Upon roll call all `aldermen present voted
"aye" and said Resolution was passed and adopted.
RESOLUTIUiV NQ. 769
Resol~~Gion No. 76g, being a resolution transferring certain funds ` o~ the
City was road. It was moved bit k~reebury and seconded by ~eatt that Resolution -
No.76~ be passed. Upon mll call all aldermen present. voted "aye'f and said
Resolution. was passed end €zpproved.

was moved key Scott and seconded by Freeburg the .letter be turned over to the
R.ecreationa.l Corunittee. The motion carried.

A letter. from the Northern Pacific F~a~.~-way, inv~iich they stated that there
was no need for traffic light on the Fifth Avenue' crossing was read. It was
rr~oved by ~''reebury and seeonded by Feuerbach~r the ~~ter be placid on file.

An application for a perrlit by Norval Rockvam ~o `remodel an 18x22 frame
garage .into an apartment, to build a 6xf3 addition, frame building, to -be
placed on concrete foundation,of new and used materials, to be stuccoed when
finished, on ~2 of Lot 19 and Lot 20, Block 23, Laurel Realty Second subdivision
at an approximate cost of X2000 was presented. l~ way moved by ~''raebury and seconded by Feuerbachor the ~rrlit be granted. The motion carried.

An application fora permit, by Lawrence E. smith to build a 12 x23 frame I~'I
addition to preser~~ garage (which is a~Gt~ched to house) on concrete foundation, I
of nevi materials, on Lots 17 & 18, Block 33, A11ard Subdivision, at an
approximate cosh of ~3U0 was presented. It was moved. b~ r'reebury and seconded
by McCormick 'the permit bs granted, Ths motion carried.
The, app:iication for perrr~it by J. J. Cassidy which had been referred to 'the
Councilmen of the First Ward at the last meeting was brought up. I t way. moved
by McCormick and seconded b acot~ that special Permission be granted Cassidy,
as S~Gated in ordinance No. ~2I.E., with regard ~b placing of garage. -..The motion

It was moved by Iv7cManus and seconded by ~''euerbacher that ~h~ Mayor be
authorized to p~ chase drill dress, f'oruse by the City a~ the Pump House.
The motion carried.
~t was moved by Scott and seconded b~ Freeburg ~h.at the ~allo~ance f'or
use of autoriobile, by the City ~.gineer, be raised to 2s per month, beginning
Mar ch 1st, 152. The r.~ot ion e€~rried.
The ,City Engineer stated. that thorev~uld be a meeting of the Park and
Street ~'ommittees, at the Commercial club Building; on March 21, at L~:30 P. l~.
regarding the creation of district .for the cleaning of I~~ai n Street;
-fit was. moved and seconded, we do now adjourn. 1'he motion 'carried.
