I~ was moved by Scott a nd seconded by Ruff the minutes be approved. The motion carried. Mr. George Scott en, fir. Robert Jones and Mr. J. F. l~ac~onald,; all of the Montana Power Company, appeared before the council ~o discuss the flucuation ' of p~~rer in the Git~. They stated that the dealers in the. City held no complain to report. That the rapid growth of t he City, and the remand for more power, made .~.t rather diffict~l~ for the Company to keep pup, but 'that they were doing ever~~h~.ng possible to. suppler th.e increaded demand. report vas ~iver~ on ornamental. steel poles on street lights for t he ' south side of Main street, v~ th underground wir3.ng, The cost of such poles would be approximately 2~0 eaah, on a S.Z.D.. distrf ct, and the saving would be apprc~x mate~.~r X26.28 per pole pgr year on power, VYooden poles and overhead wires wou~ be furnished by the Power company, a t no cost to the property . owners, c~ City. It .was moved ~v~r~Seott and se~onde~ by Me Manus that the E1d~r Grove PTA be allowed to rend Riverside Park for~the 20t1~ of February, as rec}zested., The motion carried. The Treasurer report for the moth of January was presented. It w~.s moved by Free~aury and seconded by Scott the report be;~ ap~r oved. The motion carried The Clerk+ s- report ~'or the month of January vva's presented. It was mcved by~ Scott and seconded by lubman the report, be approved. The motion ~arri_ed. A request from Clara Orr, Trea~~rer, asking permission to be out of the date during. part of the: month of February, on ~racation, was read. It was moved by McManus and seconded by ;~eslanwitch the request be granted. 2~e oration carried. RESOLUTION N 0. 846 Resolution No 846, being a resolution proposing to extend the boundaries of the City of Laurel, to include a1T of Blocks 1` & 2, of the Fourth ~~renue part of the City, was ;~res'ented and read. It was moved by r Subd v~. si on as Scott and seconded by P,esl.anwitch z~sol.ution be passed. ORDINANCE N4. 465 Ordina~ee No. 465, being an ardinancs prescribing the form, denomira tion, and rate of interest o~ ~aonds of 3I.~.. No. '76, snd prov3.ding for the time and- payment end redempti on of said bonds, was reael. It ~nras mc~w ed by Freebury arzd seconded by Tubman 'that ordinance No, 465 be passed and approved. Upon roll call, all. aldermen present voted "a.ye" -and said ordinance was declared.passed and approved. OR~IIVANCE N0. 466 Qrdinance No. 466, .,being an ordinance providing for the receiving of bids and the 2et~ing of a contract for the construction of imprc~vemants in SIT. . r No. 78, being curbs, ~,a~ters and sidewalks, for two blocks Q~ ~ev~nth Avenue, was .read. No. 78, .and providing for the time and payment and redemption of said bonds, was read. It was moved by Freeburg and seconded bra Mc~~nus that Ordinance No. 467 be passed amd approved. Upon roll call all aldermen present voted "aye" and said Ordinanc e was declared ~a ssed ~ry~.. and approved• A letter from the Laurel Co-op Association', in which they stated that they were retiring, all stock, issued 3.n the first year of operation, 1945, was read. The letter was placed on file. ~t was moved by Scott and seconded by Mc;~an~s th at the following claim be paid ; Yellowstone :electric Co. 505.80 Mitchell Construction Ca. 4433.22 Z'i~e motion carried. It was moved by Seott and seconded bar Beslanwitch the claim of the ~eFrance GMC Co., be paid; DeFrance GMC Co. 268.21 The motion carried. . No action was ~eken in the mater of the Block between 2nd Avenue and 3rd Arenue, along '7th Street, which is 20 feet south ors Seventh street. A report on the water lines, and the condition of same, was given by the City engineer. Police Chief V~1ood appeared before the- council r equest .ng a curfew o rdinance. It was moved by Scott ar~d seconded by Mc l~lanus that the natter b e referred to the Police committee, for recommendations for the next meeting. The mct ion carried. City Attorney Sweeney stated that he would like t~ rent office space on the 2nd floor of the new City Hall, which is now nearing ccmpletion, and would pay X35 per month, with the understanding that he would not expect to .keep said ofii ice if he was no loner Attorney for the ~it~y, or it was needed for other purposes.
