Fire Committee
June 4, 1998 7 p.m.
City Hall
Present: Steve Wegner, Jim Stevens, Gary Temple, Ken Oisen,
Dirk Kroll, Rob Harris, Darrell McGillen
Others: Don Gudgell, Ken Petro, Doug Allan, Bruce Markegaard,
Dick Blee
LUFSA Board of Trustees presented tO the Fire committee a proposal to
annex Sections 27 and 28 to LUFSA for fire protection. There was discussion on
that most of the subdivision is covered by LUFSA and the Board would like to
include this area. Darrell MeGillen moved, Jim Stevens seconded to accept the
proposal from LUFSA to annex Sections 27 and 28 and to recommend approval to
the City Council at their next meeting. Motion passed.
The Fire committee also discusSed with LUFSA some issues that the Fire
department considered important to them. Those issues were: 1.) To maintain the
roads that the fire tracks use to get to the fire, 2.) To have a reliable source of water
that is close to that area, 3.) To have the residents do summer cleanup around thek
properties like cutting down weeds, and 4.) To have boundaries clearly marked and
to have a reliable list of resident's addresses for the LUFSA area.
The meeting adjourned at 8 p.m.
