Upon. roll call the f ollowing aldermen ansv~ered present: Leuthold Rodgers Freeburg ~illiam.s Ebersviller Per ker horning Scott The minutes of th€~ previous meeting were read. Zt was moved by Scott ~.nd seconded by ~%ber~niller ghat the minutes be approved. The motion c~arr3.ed. ~qr~ Hunter appeared before the Council in re and to having struck the end of a culvert on the c orner of Seventh street and ~ashin~to~i Avenue, c~.tnaging his ~u~omobile and slightly inuring his vuiFe. ~e stated that his Attorney had requested him to p:c~esent theelaim to the ~it~ Council. It vas moved by Rodgers and seconded bar ~bersviller that the bill be referred to the ~-nsurancs ~ompan~ for settlement. ~'he motion carried. Mr. John Brohaugh, F3.r.e thief, a~apeared before the ~ounail in regard to the stora~e.,of the nia.ral District fire truck. He sug es~ed that it might be housed ire the ire Hall and No. 1 Unit belonging to the ~ity be hosued in a temporary shelter created lby the City. He also sta-Ged mat the County would be willing to pay rental f'or the stora~e un~i, ghat they might have a radio in the truck and a receiver in the Fire all. It was moved by '~cott and seconded by Rodgers that the r ecommend~ztion of the Mayor's appointment of the Chairmen of the Fire, PoliQe and ~~'inanae ~~mmittees, for study of the cost of such a plan, be approved. The motion c ar~~.ad. Mr. H. Sterrett, Police Judge, appeared befo~~ the Council requestir that a 2-car No Parking zone be marked off in Front of the Commercial flub Building, for use during bus3.ness hours. I~ was moved by Leuthold a1d seQOnaed by Williams that tha zone be rn~rked o.~f, for business hours only. Zhe motion carried. aldermen. Horning, 4~iil3.ams and Louthold, requested p~~mission to leave the Sate dur3.n~; vacations. `I~ie reguegts were granted. The Library report for the month of July was presented. RESOLUTION N0. 9~6 Resolution No. 916 being a resolution creating ~peeial Improvement Distriot No. 8D vas prdsented. Tt was moved by ~'~rker end seconded by Rodgers that R~soluti~n No. gib be p~s~ed and approved. ,Upon roll calla 11 aldermen present voted "aye's and said Resolution was decl.arecl passed and approved. Upon roll. call all aldermen present voted "aye and said Resolution was declared passed ~n.d approved. A 1et~er from the school district was read, in. vah~.eh they requested that Viewer and eater be furnished to ~~.e new school at the "pest End of the ~i ty. It was moved by Scott and seconded bar Leuthold that the matter be ~ePerred to the dater Committee to bring in. reoa~mrnendation to the Count il. 'The motion Darr ied. The motion carried, the City clerk w as instructed ~o set up a Garbage llepreciation Fund, which would place X500 from Ua~ba~e No. 1, ~1 X1000 from Garbage No. 2, into a ~peQial. fund. on ayearly basis, to pay S'or a nsw Garbage unit and truck, when it was needed. also ta~iat the Garbage No. 1 Find pay the Water ~''und. X1000 which i~ had borra~ed ~o pad for the present Garbage truck. Upon roll call all aldermen present voted "ay~e`~' and said ordinance was declared passed and approved. It vuas moved by Leuthold and seconded by Freek~ury that the City' Clerk advertise for the sale of Bonds f'or ~peQial Improvement llistrict No. 80, and also f'or bids f'or' the contract Por the work to be done in that District. the motion.
