Tt was moved b~ Beslanwitch and seconded by Tubman the minutes be approved. The motion carried. The minutes of the ~~ecial meeting of Aril 11th, were regd. It was moved by l~2cl~anus and seconded by R~cl hers she minutes be approved. The mota. on carried. Mr. Victor Frank appeared before the Council, for the ~'ommercial flub, stating that they would like to clean l~~ain:~tr~et, and first Avenue o~ the silt and debris left by the sn~a storm, and vuould like to have the City furnish them ,vutth brooms, shovels and trucks to haul away the dirt. It was moved by Hu~'f and seconded by 1k1ieT/tanus that the City ~~articipate in she clean-up, and furnish the necessary equipment. `rhe motion carried. A petition signed by Jahn iauch Jr., Eva ~3. ~Zauc~, Otis N. ~'~.eld, Virgie yield, 5'tanley Vy. Lance, Mr. & l'~rs. A. L. A,~tman and Mc~aullen reading as f'ollovus was presented and read: 'tUVe tho unders~~;ned, property owners and taxpayers of Yellowstone `'ounty, South fide, requ~.~t immediate action to .~~a~ap':~.~e~-'fi~~ng of rifles, etc., from the City Dump across the river, as such firing is endangering life and property on the opposite side of the river." ~'he pity agreed 1b put up sinns restrictin.~; t:~e use of guns, on the City dump. A letter from u~i~;genhorn Hutton, Scriltz & Sheehy, in regard to the C~.~y~~ request to the goat Western ~u~;ar company, for she opening of Cedar.Avenu.e was read. Because it would not be advisable for the opening of the Street, it w a~ moved by Freebu,ry and seconded by ~lm~nm~.n that no garbage tax will be pub on the 8 lots belonging to Alex ~iehael, until such dime as there are some improvements. The motion carried. A letter From Kush K. Potter, Director of civil De~'ense was read. No ~overnmen~ participation would be g3.ven unless the pity acquired two mobile units. TM.e letter was placed on file . ~rhe Police ~ommi~tee reportted that a netro car hadbeen ordered f'or ~ he Po1iQe Departrnent~ and ~.ould be available shortly. It was moved by `rubman and seconded .b~ Mc~'ianus thatthe Mayor be authorized to sign a contract for water at the Sewage ~'isposal Plant House after he had made arrangements to eliminate the charge for the ~~ire Hydrant. ~~he motion carried. A letter from school District No. 7 vuas read, ,in which they requested that the City ca~~ry on its program for sidewal~~: along 6~Gh `street. Zt was moved by ~'uubman and seconded by ~eslanwitch that the matter k~e f'ef'erred to the Sheet Committee and the ~ity~yngineer to check on the sidevualks needed, and dive report at the next meeting, so Resolu~Gion can be prepared for Special Improvement ~'istriet. The motion carried. The ~ehool would also like to have Colorado 'venue closed ors. basis that the School is involved and the children's playgrourrl. An ap,nlication. It ~uas moved by ~eslanwitch and seconded by nodgers the letter be referred to the 'ark `'ommittee. the motion carried. The Treasurer's report f'of~ the month of March was presented. It waa moved by Ruff and seconded by Beslanwitch the report b~ approved. 'lhe motion carried. Z'he Clerks s report f'or the mont~i of March vas presented. It was moved by Beslanwitch and seconded by Rodgers the report be approved. The motion carried. RESOLUTION N4. 903 Resolution No. 903, being a resolution extending the boundaries of the pity. o~ Laurel, to include Block 1 of the West School subdivision, was read. It was moved by Tubman and seconded by Huff that resolution No. 903 be passed and ap~r oved. Upon roll call, all aldermen present voted t'aye" and said Resolution was duly plassed and approved. It was moved by McManus anal seconded by ~eslanwitch that Resolution No. 90~ be passed and approved. Upon roll sell, all aldermen ~aresent voted "aye's and said resolution was declared passed and apprflved. claim from ~oysdon Furniture, in the amount of, 801~..~31~. was presented. Af ter approval of the Finance Committee, it was moved by lukiman and seQO nded by Beslan- witch the claim be approved. The moti~tn carried. A last of unpaid licenses was read. It was moved bykRu~'f and seconded by Beslanwitch the Clerk be instructed to write all Barbers anal Beau.t~r Shops inf`ormin~ them that they would have to have business lieenscs for the sale of tonics, cosmetics and other merchandise. 'the motion carried. It was moved by Rodgers a¢~d seconded by Beslan.witeh that the ~rdinan.ce on connect~.n.g with severs be enforced to the limit. 'T'hat they be liven 90 days in which ~o conneot with sewer, anad then an additional 30 days, before they will be sub~rj.ect to fine. The motion carried. It was ~r~ovecl by Tubman and seconded by Beslanvaiteh that the dater commissioner be allowed to attend the dater Convention to be held in Butte. 'The motion carried. F44r. Hugh Sweeney, ~ity~~torney, o~'fered his oral resignation at this time. It was moved and seconded we do now adjourn.
