P~.rk~r Williams The Reverend Allen capened the meting with a prayer, and two verses from the book o~ P s a12ns . The mi~.utes of the previous an~etirig were read. It uvas moved by P~.rke~ and s~oonded by ~ill~.ams the- minutes be approv~;d. The Motion. Carried. Bob Freund appeared before the Council in ~eg~rd to whither or not some~hir~g ~uas going to be done to the alley between Th~.rd and Fourth ,~.v~nu~, and eighth end Ninth Streets. Bar'. Freund ~a~rs that ~h~ alley is t~~ feet higher than their grope rt~r. After sQrt~e c~isaussion, during which tirr~e the Cor~rn~.t~ee appointed to inspect this alley, and -the ~i~y En~~.neer reported to the Coun~i.l, motion was made by Le~.thold and seaond~d b~ Ebersville~, to give the ~it~ ~ngin~er authority to go ~.he~d and Qut the alley down ~o grade. Also to haul in gavel to be put in the alley, and the property o~ner~ to pay for the graval. Motion Qarried. Claims fog partial pa~ymen~s were presented bq Barry ~1Lear~ in the amount •of X8,702.10, and Hitt Gonstruc~ion in the a~n.our~t of ~7,2~5.77. Motion Carried. The Couneilm~n present discussed putting the City's surplus property up for bid, as there have been several inquiries as to the probable sale og City lots. Claims from Black ccea Veatch on Estirr~ate No. 13, for ~1~.,668.76, ~s ~imat~ No. 10 for ~1, 99? .1~, and Final Estimate for ~1, 933.00 were p~esen~ed for patent. It was moped by Williams and SeQOnd~d bg Horning to a~aept and approve these claims. Motion carr~.ed. Leu~hola stated ghat the gravel is piling up on the aorr~er~ of the streets, and su~gestsd that this be picked up. Alm v~~eds ire eolleat~ng debris, and should be ale~ned up. The City Engineer sated ~h:at his of~'~a~ has been ree~ivin~ many complaints dtze to the faa~ that the aontraa~ors putting in the Qurb and side talk are not eleanin~ up properly after their job. I~G was moped by Par?~er and seconded by Ebersviller that the Eng~.ne~r t~A given the au~horit~r to ~o ahead and take care off' these ~hin~s, and to be r?~ors^firm with the con~Graators as to doing their fobs eor~ectly for the good of the City and the Cornmun~.ty safety.
