The minutes of the last meeting were read. It was moved b~ Horning and seconded by Rodgers the minutes be approved. The motion carried. The minutes of the Special meet~fing were read. It way moved by ~jilliams and seconded b~ ~euthold the minu~~s be approved. The motion parried. Mrs. Rose c um appeared before the CounQil in regards to trees along 7th Street where sidewalk is to be plaQed. ~lder~an Rodgers, Chairman of the Street Gomm~ttee reported ghat the ~Grees would have to Dome out, as there pan be no deviation on the plaQing of the walk. Mrs. Crum stated that ro€~m had been le~'t #'or the aonven~ional sidewalk, and suggested that ghat b~ ~Ghe type used. The ~%ounail assured Mrs. Cram that the firs would be saved if it ~rere at €~11 possibly. Mr. Kenneth Ha~er~.en appeared before the council 3.n regard to the graveling of nth Avenue by the new School, he asked that the City help gravel. The motion carried. A report was given on the alley in the rear oP tie J. C. P~nne~ Story, on Nla in 'street. Alderman Rodgers requested that e€~n~rete be broken out to find if leak is at ~ffi~er aonn~ction and bill owners of proper~~ for costs. Alsd~ that the alley behind BiQe Truck lines be rewired and charged to Biae for gravel. 'the Commera~.al Club has requested the Highway pub a 4-lane high~~.q through Laurel ~o Mossr~.ain, with a 4-lane ,underpass, and would appreciate having the north side of Main Street p~~ in good repair. Ald~rrnan ~QOtt requested pQrrn~:ss~.on to leave the state. Permission was gr~.nted. The City Clerl~ requested permission to leave the Stag. Permission vas granted. Mr. Banker gave a report on pro~~ess of work at Plank at river. The Water repor~G for AugLS t 20th was ~regented. It was moved by Scott and seconded b~ Parker the repot be approved. The motion carried. The Treasurers s report for the month of August ~uas presenteel. Aldermen p€~.rker reported that it was the intent that Janes Bari b~ g3.Wen a 5¢ per hour raise, at the time the other fe11o~ 1 s rece~.ved thsfr raise. And that he be given the raise, re-troaotive to the ~~t of July. It was moved by Rodgers and sego nded by Horning that the ~%ommereial Club have the use of R3-verside Park on the night of ~etober 25th, Pree of eha~ge.
