The minutes o~ the previous meeting were read. St vas moved by Parker and seconded by Rodgers the ~n.in.utes be ap droved. The motion carried. ~~c~~UrTOr~ No. 9bi solution No. 96i, being; a reso~.ution transferring o ertain funds of the city o~ Laurel eras presented. Tt was moved by Fr~ebur~r and seQOnded by ~4'illiams that R~~olution No. 961 be passed and approved. U~fln roll call, all aldermen. present voted g'aye'r and said r esolution way decl~.red passed and approved. 'The TreasurerTs report for the month o.f April vu~s presented. It was rxaoved by Ebersviller and seconded by Leuthold the report be approved. 't'he motion carried. The Clerk ~ s report for the month of April vas presented. It eras moved by Pa-r:~ke and seconded by nod~ers the report be approved. The motion Q armed. A letter of resignation effective June 30th, signed by Clara L. Orr, C3.ty Treasurer uvas read. It was moved by El~ersviller and seconded by T~.odger~ the resignation be accepted. The motion carried. I~~r. Banker have a report on the progress of the work a t the Filtration p~.ant at the riven. It was moved by ~'suthold and seconded by Horning that the claims of E. S~aoharaeh, in the amount of X22, 230, and Cop Cons~ruotion in the amount of X5,421.04 be at~~aroved. ~~'he motion carried. Mr. ~tol3~er~ VlTat~on, appeared before the Counoila representing the workers a t the City darn, reguested that they be ~;ivsn a flat 15~ per hour increase in pa;~. He also suggested ~Grzat s orne sort of agr~em~~.t with prospects of an annual increase in pay to be dravun up, and t~.at the Police and other workers of the ~it~r ~o be included in the raise, if possible. It was e~al.~ir~ d that the ~r ospeets of an annual increase could nod be worked out, as another council mi~h~ not accept such an agreemen 'rha~ it would ~e advisable to make an annual request should be in the ~'orrn off' a R~,solu~ion to be set up for the beginning of the ~'~isaal year, July let, fixing the ~ ..dries to be paid for the coming year. The Coun.cit will give the request their cons idera~ ion. Discussion on the ~rop~st~~a~n of Sewer and ydater in the mast end, outside the amity Limits was taken up. 1'he Committees re'ceommended that the sewer faoili~ie~ should not be extended to irielude property ou~~ide the City Limits at .this time. It was moved by Parker and seconded by Leuthcld that tYie r~aammendations of the Committee i.n denyir~r; the request, be approved. `Ihe motion carried. It was ~aoved by Rodgers and seconded by Williams th€~t ~4~rs. Martin ~~a~nus' request to day in sash, for sewer on 2 building situ in the Manus subdivision, be approved. the mot~c~n carr~ect. `rhe pity Attorney xzeporiaed that he would have a draft of an ordinanQe providing for payment of excessive garb outs, for the next meeting,for approval of the council. `finis vwould relieve some of she ~arkir~ diz~ficultias on thEa south side of Main 'street. ~Zr. Tt was moved by Freeburg and seQOnded by 'Williams that the Pol~.ce Committee be authorized to negotiate for a new vehicle for the E'olice Dept. 'the motion parried. A claim in th.e amount of ~225.7~, for sewer damage, vwas ~~resented by J. E . Freeburg. The x~arna~e was caused b;~ improper draining of the S~roimmin~ Pool. It vas moved by Parker and seconded by Horning-; the claim be referred to tho Tnsuranco Company for ~a~~rnent. 'the motion carried. It ~~,s moved and seconded we do now adjourn. The motion carried.
