Chambers, and vu as called to order by N1a~or Thomson, a t 7 :30 0' dock p.m., Tuesdap
April 3rd, 1956.
Upon ro1.1. call the following alderman an~~uered present:

'Ihe minutes of the previ4u~ meeting were read. rt was moved bg Ebersviller and
seconded b~ hodgers the rriinutes be approved. The motion Qarried.
Mr. ~arvlir~ Hoppel ap~~~.red before the Council requesting that the ~enoe at the
.~thle tie Park be regained and painted before the ~us~rner recreation program begin.
It was moved by Leuthold and seconded by Ebersviller ~ha ~ the ,~thle tie Park Board and
the ~a~ Committee make a study of tY~.e needs and changes ~o be made, and acnta~~ the
School Board to het work done as soon as possible. The motion carried,
Mr. Dargl ~n~~bregson appeared before the ~ounail on beha7.~ of the l~ndo~rner~,
north Qf the City Limits, from Alder to elm. Avenues, and between Maryland Avenue and
seventh Streets, r egu~sting ghat the City assure the landov~ners that they ca~.ld aonne~~
with the City Sewer, in order that they might be able to het the Coun~~ to create ~
Special Improvement vistrict for unitary ~e~~rs. It w~~ moped by Soon and seQOnded
by Parker that the Sewer and WatQr committees, and Sewer and ~llater Commissioner, and the pity attorney, make a study of the resent ~e~er f~oili~ies in the Easy part of
the ~%ity, a1d also of the y~aGer facilities, and bring report to the next meeting oP
the ~ou~oil. 'I'gae mention married.
'~r. Robert Breeding, of the Ntontana Tinning Assoc., app eared before the Couna ~.l
end presented a letter, requesting the use of Riverside I?a~k~ once each montk~ for the
next 6 months, to dive a publics dance. He ~gr~ed that thoy w ould meet all the requirements for holding such pub:lic~ dances. It was moved by Rodgers and seoonded by
Scott ghat permission be granted. 1'he motion. carried,
NIr. Joseph Ma~erle of the Morrison Engineering Gompan~, of Helena, a1~peared bef'or
the council, and outlined the servioes that they had to offer, Cc~~.sulting~ ~ngin~ers
letter from the State H i~hway Dept. , in a~hi ch -~h~y terminated their lease for
ir~eigh station at Laurels ~uas read. It was rnovod by LQUthoZd a1d ~eoonded by '3 illiarns,
that the city clerk send a aopg of 3.ease, with monthly rental at X30 per month, for
1-year, w ifih 90-day danoellation ~lau~~, to the Bill3.nas , off3.ce for their approval.
The motion carried.
A letter from the Interna~iona.l Assoa., oP Eleatri~al Inspector, int'ormiMg of their Convention to be held in Bi.~_1in~;s ors April 28th and 29th, was introduced. I~
was moved by Williams and seoonded by Horning that the CitykWa.re Tnspeetor attend the
meeting. Phe motion carried.
A l~ t to r f'r om the City of Livingston, in regard to 13.c ens s ~ o~ barbers and
Beauty shop operators was read. The let~er was placed on file.
'the Library ,report for the month o~ March was presented. It was moved bar ~~~er
and seconded by Williams the report b e approved. ~~'he motion carried.
The Water repot f'or March 20th, was presented. It was moved by Williams and
seQOnded by :~bersviller the report be a~provea. ~'ne motion ~arriea.
The Police Judges report for the month of March was presented. It was r?zoved by
~bersviller and seconded by dodgers the report be approved. The motion Qaz=ried.
The Police reports for the month of ~'iarah were presented. Tt was moved bar Parker
and seoonded bar Leuthold the reports be approved. The motion Qarried.
RE iOLUTION N0. 957
~.esolution No. X57, bein~~ an a~reernen~ with the City Employees was presented.
It way moved b~ Parker and seconded by Ebersviller that Resolution X10. g57 be passed
and approved. Upon s~oll cal. 1 all ~lderrnen present voted ~~aye`~ and said ~ esolut ion
v as declared passed and approved, on a trial basis.

A disaussi~n in regard to picking up Garbage in the bu~ine~s dis triet on Saturdays
vvas held. It vas anoved b~y ~1~illiams and seconded by Freeburg that the matter be referred to the Garbage Gommitt.ee. The motion carried.
The Commercial Club extended an .~nvi~atio~ to dinner on ~h.e 19th of .~pril' to
members of she ~'ounc it and the ~ity~~E~gineer. ~ff'a.irs of the City to be one of the
topics of discussion.
Alderman Eber~viller have a report on the hiring of John Dennis, as cansultin~;
Engineer fir the City. No definite action vuas taken at this time.
RESOLUTION ND. 958
R~solutioza No. 958 being a resolution proposing; to e xtend the limits ~f the City to include the ~ageman ~ubdivis3.on ~a~ presented. It was moved by Williams end
seconded by Leuthold that Resolution ~Tk~. 958 be passed d approved. Upon roll call
all aldermen present voted Faye" and said resolution vas declared passed ~.nd a~pro~red.
It was moved end seQOnded ws do nc~w adjourn. The motion parried.
