Members present: Chai/~man Rob Harris Lyle Jones Lee Barndt Sharon Herman, Marvin Carter B. Other's present: Ron Herf~an A quorum (3 or more) present the following action was taken by the committee: Rob Harris reported that Sol Schoessler is planning on retiring July 1st. Committee would like an official letter from Sol. Discussion regarding a retiremen't party for Sol. Rob Harris introduced Ron Herman who has been helping Sol a~ the Cemetery. Ron will take over the caretaker position when Sol retires. Rob also gave Ron a two-way radio that he got from Larry Peterson to be used to get in touch with the caretaker. Discussion begarding minimum oute~Icontainer requirements. Motion by Lyle Jones that the minimum outer container requirement must be a fibre- glass dome, seconded by Marvin. Carter. Motion carried. This requirement applies in all sections except the baby section. Rob stated that there is $350 left in the Revenue Sharing budget which he would like to use for putting up a workshop in the cemetery building. Ron Herman will do the work himself. Motion by Marvin Carter to pur- chase the materials needed for the workshop, seconded by Lyle Jones. Motion carried. Rob stated that 10 spruce trees have just been planted and they would like to plant a few more. It was the committee's recommendation to stay with the spruce trees. Discussion regarding the perpetual care money and what it could be spent for. Rob reported that the cemetery is in need of a new sod cutter. A new one would cost about $1700. Rob has put in for one in next year's budget. Discussion regarding the salary for the new caretaker. Motion by Lyle Jones to leave the salary at $550 per month plus half the opening and closing and evaluate sometime this fall for a raise, seconded by Marvin Carter. Mo.tion carried. There was also discussion regarding the charge for the opening and closing of baby graves and cremations. Baby graves are $40 and cremations $50. Motion by Lyle Jones to make the opening and closing for baby graves and cremations the same which would be half the price of the adult graves, seconded by Marvin Carter. Motion carried. Discussion regarding the opening and closing costs for burials in the catholic cemetery. Lee Barndt to check on the number of catholic burials during the last 2 or 3 years to see if the $100 is enough to cover the City's expenses. Discussion about the possible purchase of additional ground for the cemetery. Committee to check with Sol Schoessler regarding ownership of the surrounding land. It was reported that the American Legion put a headstone in wrong in Section "G". Rob has talked with Vern Halvorson and they will change it.
