Tt was moved by Horning and seconded by E3eslanwit~h that the minutes be approved. Harold Bender appeared before the Council ~o protest that he eras not getting the police protea~Lon that he thought he should have.. He had spoken to several Councilmen be~'ore the meting. St was moved by Ruff and seconded by Ebersviller- that th~.s mater be turned over to the Police Committee. The Pol~.ce Committee to call a special meeting of the Policemen involved and Nr. ~3ender, and make a report to tn.e City Couno~.l at the next meeting. Motion Carried. Claims from S.I.D.#81 to the General fund, Final Claim on Barry O'Leary, Cla~.m by Bradley on expanses needed to clear lots for sale, and Claims to the Yellowstone Bank, for re-purchase of 'treasury bills were presented,. It was moved by Ebersviller, and seconded by Menello that these claims be allowed. Motion -Carried. Treasurers report for the month of July was presented. It was moved by I-3orn~.ng and seconded by Beslanuuitch that this report be approved. Motion carried. Mr. Horning reported an the pay raises being; allowed the City ~mployee~. He preseni~ed copies of t3esolution No. 1002 to the City Council ~'or inspection. RESOLU'TTON N4. 100 RESOLUTION N0. 1002, being a resolution establ~s~.ing rules for working conditions for employees of the pity of Laurel, was read. It was moved by ~bersviller and seconded by Ruff that this resolution. be adopted. Upon taking roll call vote, all aldermen present voted "~.ye", and Resolu- tion No. 1002 was declared passed and approved. Mr. ~3uf'f' appeared before the Council to request a City ~Nator Main to be placed an Magnus Subda.vision, in 1100 and 1200 block on Montana Avenue . Mr. Rathbun raco~nmended that this work be done. It was moved by Beslanwitch, and seconded by Ebersviller that this recommendation be acaapted. Notion Carried. Mr. i~odgers suggested that a NotiQe be published in the paper ~.nt'orming the Public that the new Garbage can regulation be st~io~ly en- f'oraed after September 15th. T~ was moved by Ebersvillor and seQOnded by Beslanwitch that this be done. I~Zotion Carried. Mr. Bradley reported on the expense involved in alearin~ title on lots that the City owns, vuith a view to putting them up ~'or gale. Motion was made by Ruff and seconded by Menello that the City Attorney be r~ivan the authority 'to ~o ahead and clear ~llese lots. Claim for a~~proxi- mate expense for secretarial expenses presented. Motion Carried. It was moved by Rodgers and seconded by Beslanwitch that P1ir. Bradley inform the H. ~ t~V. Lumber ~nill to pay the bill that was sent to them for tkie fire on July 12th, and to sign the contrast that has been drawn up, or there will be no protection in the future. Motion Carried. Mr. Rathbun reported on charges being made on S.I.D's. 1VIr. P arkar reported that he had had a complaint that the Water' Office d~.d not allow the customer's 23~ discount, when he paid hip water bill on the 12th o#' the month. Mr. Parker ~rssented the name of John VV. Lackman ~.s a replace- ment on the Board of Appeals to Fill the vaa€ancy created by the death of Mr. E. U. Wrick. It was moved by Horning and seconded by Beslanwitoh that Mr. Lackmants name be acaep~ed. Clerk was instructed ~o write a letter to Mr. hackman inf orming him of th~.s appo~.ntrnent. Motion Carried. l~athb~zn reported that the City owns some equipment that is not being used. Nr. Bradley suggested that the Cii~y Clerk draw up a rssolu- tian authorizing the City engineer to se11 some of this equipment for the best price available. It was moved by Ebersviller and seQOnded by Beslan- w~.tch tkiat this be done. Motion Carried. it I I Minutes of the City Council of Laurel Rathbun reported that there was need for another truck. Motion was reads bar ~bersviller and seconded by Rodgers that the pity Engineer be authorized to purchase a truck at a price not to exceed X800.00. Motion Carried. Rathbun Mated that he had had some work done on his Qar by some of the City ~;mployees, on Cit~r time. He stated that he had paid for the parts. He said that he uses his own cap f'or muQh of the City Work. It was mowed by Menello and seconded by Ebersviller that this work be allowed, on the condition that in the future, any requests for repairs for private automobiles be referred to the City Council ~~.rst. Motion Carried. t~athl~un requested permission to be gone out of the State for a weeks s vaoation. Mr. Ruff also requested leave for a vaQation. It was moved by Horning, and seconded by Beslanwitah that these requests be granted. Motion Carr~.ed. Them being na further business, motion vuas made and seconded that the meeting be adjourned.
