Upon roll call the following aldermen answered present: Rodgers Parker Ebersviller Horning Leuthold Freeburg ~yilli~ms Scott The minutes of the previous r~oeting w~~~~read. Upon roll call Aldermen Me~Vlanus, Fruff and Rodgers voted 'fno" and Aldermen ~'reebury, Z'ubmari, Beslanwitch and Harris voted "yes°`, tivith the city to subm~.t the proposed plan to the itle Insurance ~ om~any before money can be used. He was informod that a deed would b~ rnade out as scon as the plat ~s correctod, then transfer of property can be made. As those of the council who were preaent will recall, during the Counc:~l meeting and during the discussion on July 5, 1955 re~ardin~ the above-mentioned plot of land, Iv~zs instructed to ~o ahead and use the plot of land and also to grade and pave with gravel so as to maka the plot useabl.a for my purposes, pending the deli.very of good Title and Deed end trans~'er of property to me upon the payment by I j Minutes of the City Council of Laurel 5 ~`ebruary 1957 me to the pity of Laurel 01' the agreed amount of X2,000.00. Mr. Don Lucas, or the General Insurance Co., of Amer~.aa, and Ralph Pa~el~ agen'G, appeared before the council, requesting that they have a share of the insuranQe business o~ Lhe `'ity. Mr. Luaas explained that his Qompany nwo has the insurance for Cop ~nstruetion, on the construct ion, and that inasmuch as Mr. Pagel is a local representat~.ve, he should be given same Qonsider~at ion. The ~ouneil agreed that they would ~iv~ the matter Qonsideration. PJIr. P. Johnston appeared before the ~'ounoil, on behalf of the Chamber af' Commerce, requesting that the property where the City Barn is located, be considered for a parking area, if and when the building ~s moved. '.the Counc i1 will dive the matter consideration. 1'~r. Loyd Berry appeared before the council in regard to his popcorn machine. he stated that he had rented the machine to I~lr. Johnston, and it was agreed that he would not then need license. Alderman Leui~hold requested that the Harris Agency have a divis~.on o~ the Insurance business of the G~ty, or that they be allowed to bid on Insur~.nce when i~ comes up. alderman Rodgers reported that there is no usable vuater at the Se~age Disposal Plant, and requested teat some provision f'or usable water and Fire portection be made. `The matter was referred to the Sewer and dater ~%ommittees. It was moved by Parker and seconded by ~od~ers t~zat the City nave flush tanks installed on sewers wn.ere needed. The motion carried. Darold 'rhrom, Ass~.stanc engineer, gave a report on the a at~vitie~ of the Engineer's ofi'a.ce, and the 'water department. .~'he Health off iaers reports were presented. Until th~.s matter is taken ogre of, Q. Bacharach, Inc . would like to have thkrty (30) days extens~.on beyond the date that this revision is completed to calibrate and put all these instruments in working order.
