The city ~ounail o~ the amity of Laurel, met in regular session in t~.e
Couna~.l Chamber, and was paled t o order by Mayor ~rhomson, at 7 :30 0' cloak p.m.
Tuesday, January 15th, 157.
Upon roll call the i~l.lovuing aldermen answered present:
Rodgers Parl~er
Horning Ebersviller
~yilliams Leu~hold
Freeburg
The minutes of tie previous meeting were read. It yeas moved by Hornin~~
and seoonded by Leuthold the minutes be approved. `the motion carried.
A pet~.tion f'or lights on ~~.~hth Avenue was read. It was moved by Leuthold
and seconded by Horning the petition be signed by the Mayor and pre~sentecl to the lU!ontana Pov~er Co. The motion carried.
Mr. Loyd Berry appeared before the council r eques~~.ng a change in License
for 1 popcorn mac~l~.ine ~.n the city. It vacs moved by Parker and seconded by Rodgers
that the matter be referred to the ~ in~noe Committee for study. I'he motion aarried.
RESOLUTION NO . 990
Resolution No. 990 being a resolution tr~nsferr~.ng c ertain funds of the
c~.ty was presented and ;s~ead. It was moved by Y~l~.lliams end seconded by Parker that
resolution ~o. 990 be passed and approved. Upon roll call all aldermen present
voted "aye" and saa.d resolution was declared passed and approved.
The Polf.oe repor~Gs f'or the month of DeQarnber vuere presented for approval..
It was moved by Parker and seconded by ~bersviller the reports be approved. The
motion carried.
The ~oli.ce Judge's repori~ for the month of '~ecember was presented. I~ was
moved by Ebersviller and secz~nded by Horning the report be aaproved. The motion c a rr ie d.
alderman Rodgers gave a report on power and telephone lines to the sewage
Disposal Plant, and requested authority to act, in regard to g ~tt~.ng telephone on
the same line as the Pump House, and f'or other changes in pacer to the Plant. It
was moved by Parker and seconded by Ebersviller that the authority be given. mhe
motion carried.
Nlr. Banker gave a r eport of the work at the River. He stated that Cop
Construction had requested 'that some of the work be finished in the s~~r~ing, such as
the grading of the yard; graveling and other dirt work; chiles to be cut off in the
river, and certain painting, as it is not advisable to ha~'e such work done at this
time, due to weather conditions. He also stated that there were minor things that had to be done, and that he would leave a letter ~~vith the City ~%ngineer, outlin~xng
~ the work to be done . It vas moved by ~~dilliams ~fand seconded by Parker that the
above recommendations be followed and that it should be agreed witr~ Cop construction,
in r egard of liquidating dama,~es before the ~eside~t Engineer and B1aek & Veatch are
released from the contract. he motion carried.

It was moved by Leuthold and seconded by Paxk er the b~.lls be allo~ted. 'r he motion
carried.
It was .the unanimous opin~.on of the Council that Mr. danker be thanl~ec.1 f'or
his fine eo-operation in working with the City off ic~als, and f'or the splend~dc~ work that he has done in working f'or the city s interests in the work at the Ri-ver.'<
Mr. Le~athold gave a report on the work done by the zoning committee. He
~~.ated shat there would be a publio hearing on February 7~h, after publication as
required by law.
It was moved by Horning and seconded by Vliill~ams that the Zon~.ng Cammit tee
be authorized to act on publication and hearings. The motion parried.
It was moved by Leuthold and seconded by Ebersviller that the City Attorne
be authorized, if necessary, to go to Helena for a meeting with the State Board of
Examiners, in regard ta~p~~p~rty on West Main street, with usual expense allowance. The motion carried.
It was moved and seconded we do now ad journ. The motion carried.
