There was discussion regarding the Salary for the Cemetery Caretaker. Ron
Herman has been busy with his trapping business and has not had time to dig graves
during the past few months. Don Nelson, the Riverside Park Caretaker, has been
digging the graves for him. Motion'by Marvin Car~er that Don Nelson continue to
dig the graves for the next 4 months and that he should receive the $550.00 per month
plus grave openings from Jan. thru April. Seconded by Lee Barndt. Motion carried.
There will be more discussion on this at a later date to determine what can be worked
out for next year.
Discussion regarding the amount of vacation and sick leave that should go with
the caretaker job. Motion by Marvin Carter to base the vacation and sick leave on
the $550.00 per month as a full time employee~ Whoever is receiving the $550.00
per month will receive the vacation & sick leave benefits for that month. Seconded
by Albert Ehrlick. Motion carried.
Sharon Herman reported on a complaint from Emil Unterseher about a chipped
headstone and dirt being left all over the headstones. The caretakers should be
informed to be more careful in the future and told to clean up their messes a little
better. Sharon to check with Joe on the liability of the headstones.
Lee Barndt reported that the caretakers should be at the Cemetery sooner to
cover the graves. They ~hould not be left open when nobody is around.
It was reported that the Cemetery pickup is in need of an overhaul. Ernie
Davis to check on the cost of a rebuilt engine. Motion by Marvin Carter to allow
$700.00 for repairing the pickup. Seconded.by Albert Ehrlick. Motion carried.
It was suggested that maybe Don Nelson could help the City mechanic with the over-
haul.
There being no further business to come before the board at this time, the
meeting was adjourned at 5:30 P.M.
