Parker, at ?:30 o~cloek~ P.M.~ on Tuasday, December 16~ 1958. Upon x°c~l~ call, tYie following aldermen ar~s~rered pr~;sent: Tra D. Rodgers E. H. Ebersviller Jake ~.uff Roy Horning J. E. Freeburg Wal.t~r Menello Jahn BesZanwitch A . T;~uthold Minutes of the prPViou~ meeting were read. Motion was made by BeslanwitcM and seconded by Merello that the minutes be approved as read. Motion earri~d. Lea$e between ~~rnerican Legion and the City of ~.aurel for a term of ten year for a consideration of X1.00 was pr~senteci. Mo~ian was m~.de by Beslsnwitch and s~ennded by Menello that the City renew the lease. Motion carried. City Clerk presented pictures and pries ors a post3.ng chair far tree downsta3.rs off~.ce. Motion was made by Ruff anal seconded by Beslanwiteh teat the gurcha~e rf the chair be apprav~ed. Motion cas°ried. Report of the 'ark camm~.ttee was r~~d~ in which the comma ttee recommended publishing the intention tv se11 eight cab3.ns at Riverside Park,, to be moved off by ~prsn~. Mr. Rodgers stated that it Haag his desire to have some of the City Organi~at3.on~ get -together and put 3.n an amu.sem~nt park for the public. Motion was made by Be~lanwi~ch and seconded by Ebersviller that the recamm~ndation of the Park Cmmmit~~e b~ approved. Mot3.on car~isd. RL~Sf~UTION N0. 1OF33 R~s~3.ut3.on No. 10$3, be3aig a resolu~yon authorizing the City Clerk to make certain additional cha~g~s, made necessary by the incorrect assessments for S.I.D.~s on 1958-59 taxes. Motion wa,~ made by I~euthold end seconded by Bes7.ar~witch that this resolution be adopted. Upon taking roll call vote, all aldermen present voted 4~~~ye~~, and Resolution No. 1083 was declared passed and adopted. RESOLUTION N0. io84 Resolution No. 1~81t, being a resalu~ion authorising the City Clerk to make eer-~ain additional. charges, made necessary by incorrect miscellaneous assessment can 19 8-~9 taxes. Motion was made by Horning and seconded by Mene].lo that this n~~ Resolution be adopted. upon taking roll c~?.1 vote, all aldermen present voted r~A~retf.' and Resolution No. 10~l~ was declared passed arxd approved. Mr. James Reeder appeared before they councils repre~entir~g Bice Tank I, nos' and stated that the P~liee ~spar~-.m~nt had received compl.a .nt~ about the ncs3se of the aid. tankers and the pneumatic driZ1. Mr. ~;.eutho7.d stated that he ~rould speak for himself and the Chamber o~ Cvr?ffnerce, and say that he felt that the small inconveni.~nces should be toaerated as the ~stab].i.shment was very important. ~o Laurel. Motion was made by Ruff and seconded by Menello that the Po7a.ee Comm tte~ meet with the Police DepartTrient and inform them of the opinion of the Cour~ci.l. Motion Carried. After discussion of certain water rates motion eras made by Rufi'f and seconded by Eber~viller that the En~;ineeris office be g3.ven the authority tv look into a change of water rate~~ and make a r~com~nendation to the Council. Motion carried. PKr. Parker reported ~n the absence o~ fire hydrants in certain parts o~ town, and defective hydrants in others. It was the opinion of the Council that as soon as the weather hermits, these hydrants be replaced or repaired. This cosh to be paid for our of the Water Replacement Fund. Mr. Parker repart~d on the strut sign. Di~~us~ion on ba7.ance of $18.40 owing by certain persons for gavel on Fifth Avenue. City Clerk tv eh~ak on those persons who have not yet pa3.ci, and send another bi7.1, Krug~s to be paid the b~].ance due them. Ruff made a motion to this ef~eet, seconded by Horning. Motion carried. Mr. Parker stated that as this way the last meeting of the year, he t~rant~d to s~,y that he felt that a gnat d~:al had been accomplighed. H~ sa3.d that he way not .shamed of an~,T o~ the actions taken by himself or the council. Mayor Parlor thanked all the members of the Councils the Engine~:r~~ office and the City attorney for all the assistance that had been g3.ven to hi.m. Mr. Rodgers also stated that a great deal of good had been donee and he felt there were a. lot of food people to work with. There being no further business tee comp begare the council at this t3.me, motion. was made and seconded that the meeting be adjourned.
