Mr. B. P~y~r Harris was called upon. H~ appeared before the Co~aneil r~g~rd- in~ the 1c~t that belor~~ ~o Mr$. Edna Morris, ~rhi~h the ~a.ty is int~reste~d in pur-
cha~ing. Mr. Men~llo was called upon to make a report on this. Mr. Monello reported
that the committee had met ~3th Mrs. Morriss axed mff~rred h~:r asking pries of
$~.~000.~ plug 5~ interest over a period of three dears. Mrs. Morris ~ecegted the
offer of the eommi.ttes. Mr. Harris stated that he did not unde~rs~and why the
c~unoil ~ant~d to compe-~e with private business ire the piarehase o~ th~.s lo~~ and 1~. Ruff informed h3.m that the qty Counc3.1 had only agreed ~o the offer ~a~de by
Mrs. Morrie and was not under the impres~i0n that we wire bidding aga3.n~t any private
b~~ines~. Mr. Mene114 Mated that Mrs. Morris had aall~d a ~'ew n~i~ut~s b~~ore the
meeti~.g and had raised her pr3Qe~ fc~ ~~,00~.00 ~ash~ which is the o~'fer ghat was made
~e her by the Yellowstone Bank. Under these cir~t~stanees~ motion w~ made by
Beslanwitah end seconded by Leuthold that the City withdraw theme offer of ~l~,,~00.00
~ the City was in no posit3.on to spend that ~i.~d of mo~.ep for one lot. Motion ~~.rried. Mr. Harris th~sn stated that he ~tou7.d give the bu3.ld n~ to the =~`.i.t~, if thrsy
would move it off.
Dewey Nunn appeared before the Co~.ne3.1 to state th~.t he was tinder the
impression that the raise given to the employes in Jt~.ly gov~~n~d every employee in
the G`.Lty~ €~d ob~~etesd to the f~.et that Miss Fento~~~ ra3.s~ took ~f~eet 3.n Septe~nber~ end everyone e1~e~~ tank effecst retruaetive to July 1~ 19 8. The pity ~].erk explai~~zd
the situation to N1r. Nunn regardi~.g the Library, whi.c~ is always con~id~red a
separate part of City affair.. Motion waa made by Ruff and ~eeond~d by Men~llo to
refer this matter to Mr. Parker, who is to t~].k to Mrs. Gehrett~ and the library
Board. Mc~t~.0n Carried.
Mr. ~'r~ebury reported on the ~i1ea~~s propo~i~ion. H~ h~c1. read off the
rec;~nme~ndation~ o~ the Finance Committee. He ~~~.ted that ~m~loyee~ or anyone attend-
ing any ~neetin~s should be paid ~,s near to the3.r aat~al ~xperr.~~~ as passible. After
d3.~cu~~~.on off' this ma~t~r~ mo~ican was made by M~nella end seconded by Ruff that ~hi~
r~comrnendation be aecept~d. Motion carried.

Treasureris report for the month of ~ep~ernber was presented. Motion was
made b~ Beslanwitch ar~d ~econd~d by I~snello that this report be aee~pted. Motion
carried.

Beslanwitch that the City p~arehase this hoist for $360.OC)). Motion e~rr3ed. In this conn~etion~ Mr. Ruff stated that he fell that the purehasin~ ccu ni~tee should be
con~ult~d in any f~ar~her pureha~es by the City of T~au~el. He s~atEd that a~ long as
~h~re is a purchasing committee, that it shotti7.d be ac~ivc~.
Ruff st~tsd that ion Chambers had put ia~ a n~~a curb ~,nd ~utt~r and that the
new Street Sprinkling ~urfaee was about ~i inch~~ b~1ow the curb. Dick stated that
he thought some ~rav~el could be filled in there.

Mr. Rc~d~er~ ~tat~:d that he thought that the men operating the City
E~}v.3.pm~nt should report when it is not in good working conditions and ~k that the
mechanic keep tY~3.s equi~ent in b~t~er shape. Mr, Nunn ~ta~ed that the equip~n~nt way being serviced properly alr~~.c~.y.

be placed on file, A~'ter discussions ~Ir. Ebersvill~r re~e~nded t~i~ motion made a~
the me~~ing of October 7th which dealt with the ~uspen~ion of 4~ficer Lenhardt. Mr.
Rodgers then rescinded his second to this motion. Motion way then made by ~bersviller and seconded by Beslamaitah th~.t this matter be dropped and that the eotar~c31 ~o on
r~~vrd as completely ~xon~rating Lenhardt of these char~e~. Motion Qarried.
Mr. Rodgers mated that he Felt that tie m~tt~r of Officer I~nhardt w~
very loosely haa~dled. H~a s~a~ad that h~ felt ~ccunebody was ~s].e~p at the switch. Mr.
Eb~rsv111er ~t~~ed that h~ did not feel that ar~pon~ wanted to press th~~e char~ea very b~,d.ly. Mr. Rodgers then ~ta~ed that this m~.tter should have been stapped brig

Report on the Sprinkling Diatri~t way made by Rathbun ar~d Throw.
Mr. Leuthold made the motion that the City Attorney write ~o the Viand
Cc~mmi.s~ion to find out the possibilities of lea~in~; or purcha~in~ an aerea~ge ~u~~ dent for a Garbage Dill. Seconded by Eber~v3.ller. Motion carried.
It was the opinion of the Council that ~h~ owner of some aeseeptabl.e Land
could possibly b~ convinced ~ha~ he shou.].d sell or Zea~e some o~ this land to the
City for this pwepase. Mr. Rodgers staffed that he way well acgua3sr~d with I~r. Fox,
and that he tirould volunteer for this duty. Mr. Ruff also eolun~keer~d. It was de~3.ded that Mr. Fox should be eantacted by M~„yar Parker, Mr. Aod~ers, Mr. Ruffs and
the City Attorneys before any contact was made with the State Viand Commis~i~n.
3'he cam~3ttee on the mil~ag~ ra~e~ held a ~~.or~ meeting, and recommended
-~o the council the following mileage ratea for considerat3c~n.
'~8¢ per m3.le, plus ~5.~0 per day for me~al~~ for opt of town me~ting~.~
X10.00 per day for amore than one day for per~on~ on the monthly payroll. Persons
att~r~d3ng ~eetinga on their own ti~ne~ flr persons losing their daily wag~~ to be
paid l~~ per m~i.le, acid ~~0.00 per day.
When a group o~ persons attend meeting~~ only the p~r~on furnishing the
transportation to be-paid m3.leage. All trips of ~y kind to require Council approval. Motion way made by Ruff aid seconded by B~~lanwitch to aee~pt thy, Qommitte~'s
report and adopt th~~e rates. Motion e~rried.
