Mr. Greening of Modern Chevrolet appeared before the Council with a compla3.nt abrnat taking tYme Polio Car ~o Billings for its repairs. He also stated that Ise did not feel t1~at the T~aurel Police Dep~.xfi~nent gave hitn his share of t,Yie meeker call, bnt called xreckers out of Billings instead. After discussion, mot3.on teas made by M~;nello and seconded by Ebersviller that this matter be turned aver to the Police committee. Motion Carried. Upon reconvening the Council meeting, Mr. ~'reebury stated that it had been agreed that subject to the sale of bonds, Part 1 of S. T. 1~. 86, be given to Walter J. Haven, at the low bid of ~.~198.7~ 'and also, subject to the sa7..e of bonds, part 2 of S. I. D. #86 be awarded to Long Construct3.on !company, after deleting the 2,013 sq. yd~ of sea]. coati and. RZotion was made by Ruff and seconded by Beslanwitch that the Commi.tt~et~ r~cc~m~nda- tion be accepted and contracts awa~tded as previously stated. Motion Carried. Nation was made by Ruff and seconded by Be~lanw tch that the committeets r~cammendation be accepted and contract-awarded. as previously stated. Motion ~t"~arried. Dr. Nottingham appeared before the Council briefly and reported on wh~.t was being done in the way of insect control. He reported on what had been .found oat in other towns. He also stated that the first spraying would be dons on Thursday morning, very early, weather per~.ttin~;. Police reports for the month of June were presented. St was moved by Leuthold and seconded by Ebersviller that ~h~se reports be accepted.. Motion Carried. Library report for the month of du~r.e way presented. Mr. I,euthold reported that the Yellowstone Bank would take Municipal Money for Certificates of Deposit at l~. He also stated that they were going to inguir~ as to what was being paid by the banks ~.n. B1lir~gs, and that the Yellowstone Bank wi11 meet any offer that the Banl~s in Billings will make. In this connection, motion was made by Fre~bury and reconc3.ed by B~slanwitch that the C/I~ plan be adopted, and the City Clerk be author~.zed to invest ~Ci~y Fund. Motion Carz°ied. Mz°. Ruff stated that h~ had had some complaints about weeds in vacant lots. Mr. Rathbun reported that Mr. Glen Sheets had been hired to cut some o~ these weds. Mr. Leuthold stated that the airport committee wanted to use the money that is in the Airport Fund to cut down some weds and to put a little oil. on the runway. Rathbun was instructed to ash Glen Sheets to do something about these weeds. Motion Carried. Mr. Ebersvi.ller sated that he would Like to Y~ave something-done about persons who Zed their water run continually so that it rung 3.n the street fur ~iv~ or six blocks. Motion way made by ~bersviller end seconded by Ruff that Mr. Bradley ~ draw ~p a Nuisance Ordinance, subject tv a fine, and enforce same. Motion Carried. Mr. Freebury reported that a certain man had refused to pay the ~lectr aal Inspection Fee, chaxged by the City. He w requested that the Council do something because of ~ol~.t3.ng of the ordinances we have ~ov~rning fees. Aqr. Bradley suggested that a policeman be sent around to collect th3.s ~.0~ fee. Motion was made by Menello and seconded by Beslanw~i.tch that the Police (?fficers should be so instructed. Motion Carried. Mayor Parker stated that he would like to appoint Mr. J. Vii. Heebner as a member of the Board of ~ppea7.s for a period. of three year. Motion was made by Ruff and seconded by Leuthold that the ~ouneil accept this appo3.ntrnent. Motion S~arried. Mr. Parker stated that hP had. had a call from N1rs. Ro~sel.ot, President of the Laurel Aehievernent Council.] who asked that twa representatives of ~h~ Co~cil b~ present at the next meting, with a view to placing a park of grass and treys along the main highway down main street ~o Alder Avenue. The two members who are to attend were instructed tha-~ it is -the opin3.on of the Council that no new parks should be started if it involved the City furrLi.shing free watery and that the Parks that w~ have should be maintained rather khan starting any new ones. Mayor Parker staffed that h€: had taken .it on his own, to instruct the City Clerk not to issue any notices in the newspaper regarding putt~.ng the ~.ty~s Iiab lity Policy-out for bids. He had. found, after investigating that our present insurance eomp~n would not allow the thirty dayts grace period, i~ there was a poss3:bility of losing the policy. It way also stated that in view of the fact that there i~ a quit pending on a policy held by this company,, thet we would not advertise for in.~urance bids at this time. That the day designated as Ve~eran~s Day, be included in the list o~'Holidays, and given the same considerations as the other dates on the list; 2. That the local be designated a~ a Union Shop, with the usual sixty-day period of grace. 3.
