A regular meeting o£ ~h~ City Council of the pity of Zaurel~ Monts+na, was h~:ld in the ~o~at~cil Chamb~;rs and was called ~o order by Mayor J. J. Parlor, at
7s30 o~clock~ P.M., on Tuesday, June 17, 1958.
Upon taking ro11 ca11, the following aldermen answer~:d pr~sen-~.

The minutes of the p~evi.ous meting were read. Nation. way made by
Beslanw3~eh and seeond~d by Rodgers that these minut~,~ be approved. Motion Car~i~d.
the minutes of the special ~~eting of June 12, 19 8, were read. Motion
was m~.d.e by Freeburg and seconded by Menello that these minutes be approved. Motion
Carried.
Doctor Nottingham appeared before the ~ouneil to suggest spraying the whole
town by plane for in,~~cts. He stated that spraying the town thr~~ times this year
would rid the town of flies and mosquitoes-. Wl1en he was asked about ~h~ cost off' this project, and asked to suggest a method of f nave n~ same he stated that he would like
to advertise this matter in the paper:, and make this on a voluntary contribution
basis. He suggested a price of about ~1.Ot? per lot, to be given voluntarily by the
people. He suggested that people could po~~ bly pay the X1.00 or more when they paid
their water bi11. They could be given a ree~.ipt by thy; C1.erk~s offices and refund
the money i~ there was not enough eollec~ed to do this spraying.
After discussion of th3.s mat~er~ motion was made by Horning and seeondec~ b
EberSViller th~~ the Council ~o on record as ~ndorsin~ this insect-control pro~eet~
and asked that Mr. 'Parker appoint a committee to work with I3r. Nott3.ngham to inve~ti-
gate more f'ully~ immediately, Motion Carried. Mr. Parker thin appa3nted the
~'ollowin~ committee: Mr. Walter Menello

In this connection, Mr. Zra Rodgers pledged ~,~.00, B~slanw tch ~5.00~ tp
get the ball rolling if this price met with the approval of the people.
Bud Fund appeared before the sCouneil to ask whether or not the Council
?ntended to take his property into the pity E~imits. Mr. Funk states that he h~.d to
come into the City Limits to get water and ~ewer~ that he has been asked to come into
the City Limit~~ has petitioned the pity and the ~uncils but has not had a dee s Qn
on this matter. Mr. Rodgers made a mot3.on to put this matter into the hands of the City Engineer and the Water Committee. Seconded by Menel.lo. Motiofl harried.
B3.11 Porter and Howard Pagel appeared before the u~.cil and ~ta~d that
they would like to male a definite bid o~ the City~g liability Po13.cy which comes
due the f3.rst of July. St was the opinion of so~?e of the Councilmen that these men
be all.o~ed some of the Cityts insurance. Motion wa.~ made by Muff and seconded by Menello that this policy b~ advert~.sed for bids. Motion carried.
Treasurer's Financial report for the month of May was presented. Motion
was made, by Beslanwitch and seconded by Ebersv3.1.7_~r ghat this report be approved.
Motion Carried.

Motion wag made by Ebersviller and seconded by Freebury that w~ ace~pt these applications, and allow the Zicense~. Motion Carried.
City Clerk reported that four X10.00 checks had been receieed asking for
plans and specifications on ~.I.D.ts Nos. 8b~ 87, and 88 had been received. Cop
Constr~.ction asked for plans on all threes and Asphalt:Faving Go.~ asked for plans on S.I.D. #86.
RESQLUTION N0. 1053
Resolution No. 1053 being a resolution transferring certain funds a.~ the
City of Laurel was read. Motion was made by Freebury~ and seconded by Beslanwitch
that this Flesolution be adopted. Upon taking roll call vote3 all aldermen pr€3sent voted "Aye"~ and said resolution was declared passed and adopted.

Resolution No. 1~5l~~ being a resolution extending the Gity Limits of the City of Zaurel~ Montanan to include all of Black One (1) in the Stouffer Subdivision
w2,s presented. Motion was made by B~slarnai~ch end seconded by Horning that this
resolution be adopted. Upon taking roll cal]. votes all alder~n.~n present voted Aye"
and Re.~olution l~ct. io54 declared passed and approved.
Mr. Parker called upon fir. Jake ~ia.ff to make a report on the meeting that he had attended in Buttes on ~'un~ 5, 6~ & 7th. After a e<~mplete regorty motion ~;ra8
made by Ebersvi.7.ler and seconded b;~ Rodgers that this report be accepted. Motion
Carded.
Budget Revenue and Budget Expenditure reports for the month of May were
pr8sented. Motion was made bar Freeburg and seconded bar Bes7.anwiteh that these reports be accepted. Notion Carried.
Cash report for the month of I~ay was presented. ~Iot o~ was made by Menello
aid seconded by Fr~eb~ary that this report be apps~oved. lotion carried.
Glerk's Trial balance for the month of May was presented. Motion was made by Horning and seconded by Rc?dgers that this report be approved. Motion Carried.
Mr, Iiorniug~ Chai~nan of the ecm~mittee appointed to meet with the City
Employ+ees~ was asked to report on the meeting held with the ~nen on June 16th. Mr.
Horning staffed that it was a little early to come to a decision as y~aty aid called
a meeting of this co~itt~,ee for :ismnedi.a~ely after the Ccyuncil Meeting. He stated that the cmnmittee had not het ha.d enough time to go into the matter thorcn~ghly.
Mr. ~'hrom stated that he mould like ~o take two weeks of his vacation to
attend the annual. Marine Reserve Gawp. Motion was made by Raff and seconded by
Beslar~ritch that he be allo~red to attend. Motion Carried.
Rathbun stated that he Wanted to take a week off from June 23rd, Motien
was m~.de by Beslanwiteh and ~eeonded by' Rodgers that he be allowed to have this week
off. Motion Carried.
Rathbun aga3.n asked for a decision on the typewriter. He ~ra~ i~gox~ned that
this matter had been turned over to the purchasing committee with authority to ~.et. I~ this capacity City C~.erk asked that this ma.~ter be deferred for two weeks

Rathbun reported that he and Mr. Rodgers and Mr, Horning had been looking
into the matfier of the purchase of a chip spreader. He quoted several prices and
sues of this machines and Mated that he hoped to get th3.s strut program under war
bar the 1st of Jul~r.
There being no further business to cow before the Ca~ncil at thi$ time
motion was made and seconded that the meeting be ad~ourr~~d.tantil the next regular
cc~aneil ~aeeti~g to be held on July l~ 1958. Motion Carried.
