A Speci€~. Meeting of the City Coune3.l of thy; City of Laurels Montanan was held in the Council Chambers, and way ca7.led to order by Mayor J. J. Parker, at
7:3~ o~clock, P.M., on Thursday, Apr11 ~.7, 198.
Upon ta1~3.ng roll calls the following aldermen answered present;

The purpose of the m~:eting way to determ3.ne a type of street surfac3.n~ or
repair that could be done temporarily. Mr. Rathbun way asked for his report on the
different systems that could be carried.out. Mr. Rathbun stated that the City itself could do this street work with. its own employees at a good deal leis money per lot
than creaking a Special. Improvement District, and contracting the worl~ out. A1.~o
money could b~ saved by us~.ng City Equipment, and cre~.ting ~prink~ing Districts
instead. He staffed that the cost would be appr4ximatEly ~20.(?0 p~±r lot.
Mr. Ch~rle~ H. Barney one of the County Com~?i~sion~rs met with the Cour3.cil,~
and stated that he had met with Mr. MusZlc~r~ and he stated that Mr, Mueller talked in fauor of a project to fix First Av~nue~ at least to the Old City Limits. It way
also stated that we could pos~ib].y get same gravel from Yellowstone Gaunty. 1t w~.s
also s~.gg~st~;d that we cou7.d possik~ly get the use of some of the County ~quipm~n~G
in return for pa~y~ing the wades of the man to operate it.
Nom. Rathbun stated that by patching and sealing some of the good str~et~, we could save those streets t~.nti1 a permanent Sob could be done. He alga stated that
for dust control only, it would b~ better to spray the streets with o~.l, and chip it.
Mr. Leuthold then made the motion that we go ahead with the Sprinkling District
proposal in lieu of the Intention to Create Special Improvement Aistric~t No. 89.
