In this connection, the ~3.ty ~1.erk pre~~nted the following Resol~ztion. RESOLUTION N0. 10.1 RLS~LUTIC}I3 N0. lOJ~1~ being a resolution proposing to extend the ~`ity Limits of the City of Laurel, Montana, to include all of B1~ck FQ~zr (4) in the Minus 5ub- div3.~i.on. Upon ~ak3.ng roll call vote, all ald~rm~:n present voted '{Aye~~9 and Resolution No. ].0ltl was d~clar~d passed and apprc~v~ed. Treasurer~~ reports for the months o~ March and April wire presented: It was monad by Beslanwitch and seconded by Menello that these reports be accepted. Motion Carried. Mr. Leuthold asked for a date that the Council antieipated opening the Swimming Fool offie3.ally. He st~.ted that the Chamber of Commerce wo~zlc~ like to have their Kid ~ s Day not to coincide w3.th the opening of the Pool. After di~cu.ssion~ it was decided to open the pool on the Monday follo~.ng Kid~~ Day, either June 16th or 23rd, depending on the weather. Mr. Freebury cal.l~d a mee-~ing o~ the Recreation Comm3.ttee, WEdnesday, April 30~h, at 7:3~ o'clock, P.M.. There wi11 be a discussion a~ to whether or not there • should be a charge on the swimming pool to defray some of the expenses. Nlr. Zeuthold asked for permission to leave the st~.t~ before the next meeting. Motion way made by Beslanwitch and seconded by Horn3.ng th~.t this be allowed. Motion Carried. Mr. N~enello st~.ted that he had begin sen~G a letter .~`rcm the I~.a.urP1. Achievement Council asking how the City Council. could participate in their program. An OrdinaneQ in rough draft regarding the size of curb cuts was pres~nt~d by Mr. Bradley. After discussion, it was moved by Beslanwitch and seconded by Ebersviller that this ordinance be adopted. Upon taking roll call vote., a1.1 aldermen pr~~ent voted +~~„ye", and this ordinance was d~claared passed and approved. Mot~.on was made by E1~ersvi.ller and seconded by Ruff that we publish this Ordinance so that we can hear op3.nion5 and pro~~sts, if any. Motion ~~rr~.ed. R~guest from Mr. Bud ~Znd to tap into the sewer was presented. Motion way made by R~n~llo and seconded by Leuthold that we reject this application. until. such t~m~ as he comes into the City, Motion Carried. Mr. Freeburg and N.~r. Rathbun reported ern ~h~ir trip to ~ody~ Wyoming to attend the International Building ~onf~rence. Mr. Rathbun reported on the dead trees on the boulevard by Mary Whiteley house. He r~~.d a l~ttPr he had written to the Welfare Board. He also read a letter th~.t he had received from Mrs. Wilson, Case Zna'orker. Ruff made the motion that the City Enga.neer be a~.~horiz~d to answer this letter. Seconded by Beslantiaitch. Motion Carried. ftathbura. reported or_ an accident involving Mrs. Frank Andrews, and ~?eonard Cantrell, whereby a tree and a hydrant were dammed. Mr. ~~ebury made the motion„ seconded by Beslanwitch that the City bring action against both these parties and the insurance company if necessary to recover the cots of this damage. Motion Carried. Mr. Rathbaan reported that ~h~y were 3.n the process of land~capir~g the water plant. He asked far perm3.ssa.nn to purchase si.x evergreens to finish the landscaping. Motion was made by Horning and seconded by Beslarna~.tch that this be allowed. Motion Carried. Rathbun reported on several. different ideas £or a strut program.. In this connection Har,an Russe~.l appeared befare the council with some ideas for macadam str~et~. After much discussion' motion was made by Be~lanwitch and seccanded by Menello that the City Clerk draw up a resolution of Intention to cremate Special Improve- ~ ment District No. 89 on a five-year basis, to be City-wide, and to be a 2~.-fao~ strip, w.~.th a l~°~ mat, at an approximate price of ~~6.00 per lot. Motion Carried. I, Mr. Farber stated that the chamber of ~ommeree is going to give a dirin.~r on April 21~,, 1958s for Fred W. Graff. A11 Cc~~.ncilmen and their wives are asked to attend, and in a body if possible. Tickets to b~ ~1.25~ and each is a~k~d to give something towaxd a ca.~h gift for PZr. Crraff. Minutes of the City Council of Laurel A date for clean-up week was discussed. Tt was the opinion of the Council that the week of May 12th through Z6th be set aside for this purpose, with the men being asked to pick up all trashy tree limbs, empty the burning barrels, garbage cans, and to place the charge on Garbage #1 and Garbage #2. Mr. Parker stated that the Seniors are ha~ri.ng a City Election. on April 23, 19, 8, w3.th -the City to be turned over to the Seniors on ~.pri.l 30~'h, 1958. Mr. Parker ~ta1~~d that the Council h~,d sent some flowers to NIr. Ira D. Rod.gers~ who is in the N. P. Hospital.
