A regular meeting of the pity Cduneil of the City of Laurel, Montana, ryas
held 3.ri the ~~ounail '~hambera and was eall~d to order by Mayor J. J. Parker at 7:30
o~elock, F.M., on Tuesday,, November 17, 1959.
Upon roll call, the follow~n~ aldermen ~n~wer~ad present:

the minutes of the previous meeting wire read. Motion way made by B~alanwiteh .
and seconded by Ruff that the minutes be ~ppreved as read. Motimn carried.
A Mr. S~r~,tFord of R. T;.. Stratford & 'company appeared before the council to
repar~, and as}ex ~c~ answer questior~$ regarding the City's purch~~e of a Butler
Building. Dick Throw also reported on this. As the council had ordered ~.ppraisal~
made on the building in que~tion~ these were read at this time a~ follows:
Hardy Construction, signed by K. F. Ripley, Est~nator, appra3.~ed at approximately ~8,5~0.0~ t~ 9,~?~~.~~ without the land.
Prates Con~~ruct3.on~ signed by William J. Prates, apprai~~d a~
approxi~at~ly ~9'012.(~~ witY~ou~ the land.
W~11s Bros. ~nstruetion~ signed by Paul Wells, appra3.sed at approximately X7,150.00 without the land.

Mr. Charley Buek~ eg Black & V~a~ch, appeared before the ca~cil~ ar~d way
called upon by AQayor Parker for. a report to the council ~ on work that had b~e~ dome
towards the Sewage Dispossa~l Plant so fir.

Parlor reported that the gas meter for thy: hod at~d Gun Club had been ordered
and way expected in about thirty e'iays. City Clerl~ is to be notified when the meter i~
in~t~ll~d and a X2.00 per month flat char~~ is to be added tai the bill.
Parker repArt~d that his desk had been purchased from the Wept end Lumber
~or~pany at a cost of ~1~2.50.
P~rk~r reported on the garbage cc~17.~etion situation at the Hubert Wal~c>n
Residence. Hey will get a garb~.ge rack and a r~gula~ion can, and the garbage will then
be picked up.
Parker reported on ~k~.t~.ng rinks. ~hca que$tion of getting w~.ter to certain
spots was brought up. Motion eras made by ftn.ff axed seceded by Freeburg that the
City ~n~inPerts office be auth.ori~ed put in this materials end the expense to be
charged to Park. Motion carried.
Dick reported on the emit of che~i..~~1.s. After diseu.gsien, motion way made
by ~e~bury and sec~nd~d by Beslanwitch that the pity stay with :yon Chemical Company
a$ there is such ~ s1i~;ht differene~ in prie~~ and we have had goad service in the
pest. P~m~zOn carried.

Bradley reported that there i~ a large Rural Improvement district being
eo~asidered involving a loop ~.th the amain 3.nt~rest~d parties being Dr. McCauley auid Tian 0 tLeary. Bradley sated that he had in~or~ed the parti~~ iravolve~d that it would
be l~:~s exper~~ive t~ come i.r~t~ the City ar~d ~av~ the ~C-ity forte a Special In~provem~nt
Digtric~ for them. He also informed them that they Mould-not be allowed t~ tap into
the C3.ty 5e~ra~e system tanles~ t~iey were in the 'City Li~~i.t~s. This opin~.~n Has s~rared

Ruff reported that he had had a complaint frc~ Howard Guen~hner r~gs~rding
~ide~r~lk. Dick reported mn this. After discla~si~n~ ~~tion was m~d.es by Ruff ~d seconded by Henry that the City G'lerk nAtify Mr. E~enthner that he ~us~ repl~ee this
sidewalk in the spring. Motion carried.
wank reported ~h~t ~hc sign allmwing the right hand turn after ~~apping
for a stop sign should be movasd, as it can not be seen where 3.~ is. The Engineer
to move the sign.
