I~Zayor Parker called for a report of the committee on the gage problem. The
committee recommended that Mrs. Salsbury be given a 2 .00 per month raise. S~lotion
was made to that effect by B~slanwitch and seconded by Kai..ser. Motion carried. City
Attorney was instructed to draw up an Ordinance covering wage scales, and making provision therein for inexperienced City Treasurers.
Report on Railroad Street was made to the City Council.. Motion was made by.
Puff and seconded bar F+'Y'at~k t'.o refer this matter to the r1~.aror~ the City Engineer,, and
the Stre€~t and Alley committee. Motion carried.
Frank reported on his talk with Alex Reiter.
Corr~nitt~e to investigate caxter sidewalk problem made a report to the
Council. Also made reports on several other sidewalks in need of being replaced.
Motion was made by ~`reebury and seconded by Bes~anwitch to accept the reports of the
coirnnittee. Moti.4n carried.
It was suggested that a Reso7.ution be.drawri up borrowing money from
Garbage ~2 and Light ~2 to finance the ~prink].3.n~ Districts until the tax money could
be received.- Motion was made to that effect by Freeburg seconded by Ruff. Motion
carr3.ed.

Report was made to the Council by the Comrn~.ttee appointed to investigate
the da.tch situation.
The ~mmittee appointed to investigate the costs for a new Library roof
stated that they did not have a repor-~ ready at this time.
Romee reported on the cement mixer and pickup spoken of at the last meeting.
H~ stated that he would like to know whether or not there was enough work for a mzxer.
Lo~,ael1 stated that possibly a, three cubic foot mixer would be suf£icien~.
Romee stated that the committee had balked about purchasing a new pickup fcr the engineering department, ~~ineer stated that he would like a vehicle with an
automobile chassis on the order of a station wagon. Motion w~.s made by Ruff and
seconded by Beslanwitch that an economy station wagon b~ plae~d on the 1g59-1960
budget. Motion carried.
Parker reported on the Northern Paci£3c man to cut the commercial club grass.
The ~$131.~.1~ whim was paid to the Farmers Union from funds due to Cop
Construction was discussed. Motion was made by ~'re~bur~ and seconded Y~y Ruff that
the CiWy refund one-half of this amount to Cop. Motion carried.
T~ayor Parker anno~.need the appointment of Robert A. Bai.Ilet to the Police
Force nn a six months probation basis. A~Iotion was made by Ruff and seconded by Henry that this appointment be approved. f~Totion carried.
Parker reported on drinking fountain a-~ u~'o1.d t s corner.
Parker reported o~ water taps, and this matter to be investigated and set
up properly.
Parker reported that Fred Scheidecker was planning on tearing down ha,s
buildings and asked whether or not the City would b~ interested in purchasing the
~hre~ lots behind the Library.
~'r~ebury reported on the have Murray water tap situations anal written report was read to tYie council. Motion. was made by Beslanwitch and seconded by Romeo to
accept the report of the Committee be accepted. Motion carried.
Parker reported that October 21~, 1959, was Unified Nations Days and appointed
Campbell. Calvert, Jr.~ as Chairman of this day. ~~Iotion was made by Freeburg end
seconded by Beslantiritch that this appointment b~ approved. P~Zotion carried.
It was reported that Phil Behm wanted to build his own swimming pool.
Henry asked about the codifying of the ~ City C}rdinane~:s.
.A i'~.aque was discussed for Peter D. Thomson to be placed in Thomson Park.
Mayor Parlor appointed Jake Ru~£, Chairman,, Steve Romee and Alex henry as a committee with authority to act.
Ruff reported on Light Poles at the Park. .
Parker reported ghat there are only three lif~;~zards at the swiYnming pool, and they will fin3.sh out the seasons as one of the wards resigned suddenly.
Frank and Nave asked about the ditch on A ld~r.
Henry stated that he had received complaints about the height of a hedge on
lst and Fourth. Parker referred this matte to the aldermen from the second ward
Freeburg and Henry,
Zowell reported on the meeting that he attended.
Rathbun stated that he had been offerred a position in a larger city at a
htigher salary, and would like to under his resi~;na~ion e~°fec~iaa~ in thirty days.
Motion was made by ~ui'f and s$conded by Romer that this resignation be accepted.
Motion carried.
R~.thbun expressed his appreciation for the cooperation he has received from the City Officials. Parker asked that he be given the authority to look ~'or another
engineer. Rathbun stated that the majority of the credit should ~o to Dick, as without
him the word could not have begin done.
Dick stated that the Park City School Board would. like to rent one of our
distributors and a man with it for I'riday. Motion was made by Ruff and seconded by B~slan~i.tch ~x~~~~~k that this rental be allowed. Motion carried.

There being no further business to come before the City Council at this time, motion eras du1.y made and seconded that the meeting be adjourned. Motion
