Membems pPesent: Chaimman Norma~ Orr Wall~ McGee Sharon Herman Othem's pmesent: Lee Barndt , Lloyd ShaYf Lyle Jones, A quorum (3 om more) p~esent the following action was taken by the committee: 1. Discussion regarding the headstone of Wendy Fouts. The headstone was installed by the Fouts family and the foundation is not in alignment with the rest of the headstones in the same row. It was decided to write a letter to the Fouts family stating that the foundation does not meet standards according to City Ordinance #767 and must be replaced. 2. There was-discussion regarding the interment of ashes into urns that have been placed in a headstone. Motion by Lloyd Shay to charge a $10.00 recording fee for a family to inter ashes inside a headstone and the caretaker must be present for all interments, seconded by Lyle Jones. Motion carried. 3. Ordinance No. 832 requires that Veteran markers in Section J be set on a slanted foundation. Since this would not be possible, motion was made by Lloyd Shay that the section regarding veteran's markers in Section J be deleted from Ordinance No. 832, seconded by Wally McGee. Motion carried. 4. Discussion regarding the lack of grass on some of the grave sites. ,It was reported that there are several graves that need to be re-seeded and those with humps of dirt need to be leveled off and re-seeded. 5. There have been additional requests for trees and rose bushes to,be planted'in the Laurel Cemetery. The Board reaffirmed its previous decision to allow only Blue Spruce or evergreen trees that must be planted in the designated areas only. 6. Discussion regarding the placement of one of the trees on the north edge of Section K. The tree is planted where a headstone will eventually be placed. It was decided to direct the caretaker to move this tree. 7. Committee recommends that the paving around the new section be done this fall. 8. Discussion regarding the curbing in the cemetery and the need for repairing it. There being no further business time, the meeting was adjourned to come before the Board at this at 10:10 am. ~.
