held in the Council ChambQrs and was called to order by Mayor J, J. Parker, at 7:3d

The minuses of the previous meeti.n~ were read. Motion eras made by r'reebury and
seconded bar= Henz*y that the minutes be approved as read. A~otion carried.

I raised as to what amount to place on the ballot for th.A people t~ vote. on. rl'he t~ifference

Mr. Montgomery appeared before the CoLincil to ask that the City put up a two-hour
~arkin~ si~*ns in the half-lock that his store is in. After discussion' motion was made by Kaiser and secon~?e~ by rreebur~r -L-hat -this matter be referred to the ~ao~ice co~7~m`i.ttse.

Henry asked for a report on "~ashington Avenue. Throm explained that he was not yat finished with the job.
Frank staf;ed that he had heard objections to the street danc~_na at ThriftwasT.
Franc retorted that he hid complaints about the Garbage sit~zation behind the
7.,av.rel Trailer Court. also bad ~arba~e s~_tuation at the Merchants Apartmants. ~'hrom to invPSti~ate any? take care of this.
Kaiser had. complaints on garbage, also Henry.
Frank stated that he hay? complain s that the Insect Control program was not
effective. dick stated that they intended to spray 7~~lednesday evening.
H~nrJ s1a+ed that he had found a man T~rho would tear the house r~own on the youth
Side. ?'arker rc-~quest~d that we hold off until he caxa investigate as to whether or not the
place had been sold.
Romae reported 'Ghat there were tree branches on Pennsylvania on the boulevard
between. 5th anc3 bth.
~.uff reported that there was a grater leak down at Riverside Park.
Ruff inquired abou~G the fact that. the lifeguards are ~ivin~ swimming lessons and
ch~r~in~ fox teem. Freebu.ry reported on this.
TTave reported two meters in the Laurel Trailer Co~.rt, 5~t down in the ground
~I and .full o£ water, crewing a hazard to children. It was suggested that perhaps a lock
could bP z~laced on this door.
I~rave asked whether or not anyone had checked on the numlaer of shares of water
the fanners had, who used the ditch ~n Alder Avenue. As our C~.ty Attorney had left the
meet-i.n.~ ear7_y to at~end a ditch meeting, this matter was deferred until his return.
Freeb~zr~r reported on tha overtime -gut in by +he ?~Jater Plant employees. He stated that the water committee would recommend that triese employees be paid at the rate of
time and ne half for necessary overtime. Motion was made by ~3eslanwitch and seconded by
~?omee that }he recommendation of the comm21te~ be accepted. l~TO~cion carried.
F'~rker reported that Jc~ran Lackman had asked whether or not th.~ Little I~e~gue
~3aseba?.I teams could use the park, T„~ fihe possibility that ~h~ lights might lay on for ab~aut
1 to 2 hours each night. It was the opinion the council that -Ghe City has a certain
obl.i~ation to these boys, Affer d~seussion~ motion was made by Frank and seconded by ~ BeslanT~itch Ghat the Little L~~gue Baseball Players be allowed to use the Athletic Park

Par~;er reported that the Cemetery Board rad ~~ac~ a meeting, and. regue5~ed that the
City clerk read the minutes of that meeting. After the read.3.n~, motion was made by
~j ~3Aslantiaiter and s~conc~ed by Herir~ that the minutes be approved. motion carried.

Dick reported on the water situation. After discussion, i-t was the opin~.on of
+he caurcil that t~ate~ng be allowed different sides of the street on odd and even days.
Pick also suggested having some pamphlets printed to inform the public. ?`lotion was made
by Ruf£ and seconded bar ~'reebury that the n'~~ayor and City i~n~ineer nota.fy t~:;~; ~ubli.c by any means feasible if and when a sEx~ious Urater shortage e~:curs. Motion earri~~~.

and to pass Resolut3~on 7.151 creating S.I.Q. X90, on j~Tednesday, July 20' ~9~~, at`7t~0 o'clock
P.M., i_n the City Clerk's office.
