A regular meeting of the City Council of the City o~ Laurel, Montana
was held in the Council Chambers and Baas called to order by Mayor J. J. ~'arkesr
at 7.3a o'clock, P.~. on Tuesday, May 3, 196f).
Upon ro11 call the follawin~ aldermen answered present.

The n~i.nut~s o~ the regular meeting of April 19th were read. Motion way
made by Be$lanwi~eh and ~eeond~d. by Henry that the minutes be approved gas read. ~?otion cara'~ed.
T'he minutes of the special meeting of April 22nd were read.. Motion was
made by Freeburg and seconded b~ Kaiser that these minutes be approved as read.

RESOLUTION 1142
RESOLU'TZON N0. 111 2, BEING A RESO~UTIQI~ TRANS~'ER.RING CERTAIN Ft1N~S 4F
THE GITY QF ~AUREI~, M~NTAATA, was present~c~. Motion was made by Beslanw3.tch
and seeonc~ed b~ Ruff that this resolution be adopted. Upon taking ro11 ca11 vote,
a1Z aldermen present voted "Aye", and said resolution was declared passed and adopted.
fetter was read from the clerk of School district Rio. 7 protesting the
proposed ehan~in~ of the zoning ordinance. This is not a council matter as it concerns
property now outside the city limit. Notion was made by Ruff and s~eand~d
by Nave that thi$ letter be placed on file.
Following reports were; pres~nt~d for approval. ~ibraxy report, H~s~th
Offi_eers report, Repor~G of the Police Judge, reports of the patrolmen. Motion
wss tt~ade by Beslanwitch and seconded by Ruff that tl~es~ reports be approved.
Motion carried.

Motion was made by Freeburg and seconded by ~vf~ ghat these claims be allowed. Motion carried.

~?orth Dakota requesting that w~ honor five bonds for 1J0.00 each, dated
dctober 29,192l~, for S.T.~3. #62.
better was read from '?)ou~las S. ~o~e in Minneapolis, requesting that ire honor twenty-two S.I.D. X29 bonds due January, 1929. Mr. Bradley stated. that
these bonds were outlawed by the statute of Limitation, anc~ could not be paid.
`t'he City Clerk was requested ~Go ~rrite letters telling of this situation.
After discussion of the sidewalk tha-G has b~~n brought up in previous
meetings, motion was made by Ruff and seconded by Be~lar~witch that the city go ahead and put in the sidewalk and charge the property o~m~r on their next tax
statement. Motion carried.
Nave reported a hole in the street on the south side.
Kaiser reported that Sonny ~J'1~ay was complaining about his water bill at Slick's Inn.
Dick reported on proposed sprinkling district.
dick stated that Watson should+be eompen~ated with a little gasoline as
he hay to use his private car 3.n making trips to Billings sometimes if the other city vehicles are tied up. After discussion, motion was made bar Fx^eebury
and seconded: by Beslanwitch That Watson should be allowed to ~;et den gallons of
gasoline per month from the City bumps to b~ taken under hick's supervision and
during working~hours._ Motion carried.
Parker reported on Frank Falmer~s water, and ~ug~ested a 2" tap at the ~torth end of his property. He reported on a previous evidently verbal agreement
and stated that the City should inter into some sort of a contract with him.
Freeburg also reported on this. Bradley st~t~d ghat he would prepare a eon~ract
to be signed by both parties. After discussion, motion was made by duff and
seconded by Frank that this matter be taken care of ~.ncluding a contract. lotion
carried.
Parker stated that the flags authorized at the last. council meting ~ac~
b~~n ordered.

Convalescent Homy and ~?~sper_sary Board in regard to the Home and ~a..spensary. Motion
was made by Ruff and seconded by Freeburg that this letter be placed on file. Motion
carried.
Parker brought up the sub~~ct of the School. youngsters taking over the City. HP stated that, they school officials would attend the next council meeting,
and asked for suggestions from the council
Parker reported that there was not eno~~ht'space for baseball diamonds
~hi~ year. Freeburg reported on this. After discussion, motion. was made by
£ieslan~ri.tch and seconded by Nave that this mater b~ referred to the Park committee with authority to acts and investigate this matter. Motion carried.`
Parker stated that there ~hmuld be a pick-up purchased for the Park.
He staled that this should be done Taithin the next two weeks. Fre~bury stated that
phis matter would. have to ~a3t to be budgeted for.
A letter was read from the Montana Municipal League extending an
invitation to attend a meeting far small cities to be Meld at ti~lhite ~u~phur
Sprin~si h'fontana, on Monday, Mai 9th..

of ~h~ council that this ordinance X38 should be strictly ~nforc~d this year.
