A special meeting of the City ~~ouncil of the City of Laurel, Montana, was
held in the Council Chambers and was called to order by Mayor J. J. Parker at 1:15
P.M., on Tuesdays February 23, 1960.
Upon taking roll call the following aldermen answered present;
JeE.Freebury John Beslanwitch Jake Ruff Steve Romee Cecil Nave Alex Henry Henry Kaiser
This meeting was called for the purpose: of discussing the recommendations
made by Black & Veatch' consulting engineers on the proposed new Swage Disposal
Plant.
Mr. Beatty representa~i~e of Black and Veatch, appeared before the Council
to answer question.s~ and e~l.ained va#~ious phases of the map and recommendations on
the Sewage Disposal Plant. Dick Throm reported that he had just received a call from
the State Board of Health and reported on this conversation. Parker reported that he
had received a call from Mr. Hobbs of the Federal Home Financing Company. It was
suggested that items 6 and 9 and also la be deleted from the contract. Parker reported on the itemized bill. from Black & Veatch. Several aldermen answered questions.
Parker reported on a conversation with Mr. William of the State Board of
Health, and stated that they will have a representative at our next regular council
meeting to advise and recommend proposals etcetera.
After much lengthy discussions motion was made by Beslanwitch and seconded
by ~'reebury that the City Council approve and accept the proposed Interceptor Sewer
Plan #1 and Primary Treatment facilities. Motion carried.
There being no further business to discuss a~ this session., motion was duly
made and seconded that the me~tin~; be adjourned. Motion carried.
