CEMETERY COMMITTEE

A quorum ($ or more) present the following action was taken by
the committee:
Discussion regarding theoverhead garage door at the Cemetery shop. The present door is
not high enough for the new backhoe and it has to be stored at the City Shop. A curtain
door was discussed but the cost was very expensive. Ernie will check into the Cost of
a sliding door.
Ernie reported that the cemetery shop had been broken into sometime during the weekend
of March 5th and 6th. He presented a list of itmes that were stolen. See attached
list.
Discussion regarding the cemetery gates not getting opened on the weekends. ~he police
dept. is suppose to open the gates on weekends and holidays. Committee recommends
reminding the police dept. of there responsibility on the weekends.
Ernie reported that there are still people going into the cemetery at night. He has
been finding beer bottles and cans in the mornings when the gates are opened. The
com~alttee would llke to recommend that the police dept. patrol the cemetery at least
3 times a night on the weekends and twice a night during the week to possible curb
some of this vandelism.
Lloyd Shay stated that he felt we should still pursue the purchase of additional land
for the cemetery. Possible the land to the north of the cemetery to Airport Road or
the land just north of the shop building. Lloyd will contact the owners of both parcels
of land and report back.
Discussion on digging a well at the cemetery. Ernie is checking with Ken Beven regard-
ing the price.
