July 19, 1961
A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Laurels Montana,
was held in the Council chambers and was called to order by Mayor John B~~lanwitch
at 7:3~ o'clock P.M., on Wednesday, July 19th, 1961
Upon roll call, all aldermen answered pre~er~tr
Jake Ruff Steve Romee Cecil N~.ve Henry Kaiser
G.L. ~~,sa Roy Edwards Harold Filson Kenneth Olson
The purpose of this me~ti.ng was for consideration of the bids presented
ar~d opened at the Council meeting July 18th, 1961, on the new proposed Sewage Disposal Plant. Bill Gibbs, representative from the firm of Black & Veatch,
Consulting Engineers was ca31~d on for his report on this subject. He stated
that the low bid of Drake & Henries Minot North Dakota had exceeded the estimate
of Black & Veatch by some $27~OCX`.~'~. he stated that in his opinion, there would
be no advantage to advertising for bids again, the labor situation being ~rhat•
it is. Bradley also reported on this matter.
After discussion, motion was made by Ton and seconded by Kaiser that
the b3.d of Drake-~enn~, Incorporated, of Minot, North Dakota be aceept~d, subject
to the approval of the Government and the granting of the ~118,0~0.~~ Federal Gran.
Motion carried.
There beiMg no further business to come before the co~cil at this time,
motion was duly made and seconded that the n~~eting be adjourned until Thursday night
at 7:00 o'cZoek, P.M.~ which is a special meting for the consideration of the.
1961-1962 budget. Motioa~ carried.
