Upmn taking roll call, the following aldermen answ~r~d present: Jacob Ruff Kenn~-~h Olson. Harold Wilson Roy Edwards C~ci1 Nave Henry Kaiser The purpmse of this m~et~n~ was by reason n~ meeting with members of the School Boards regarding the ptarchasin~; of a building permit, and water and sewer hood-ups desired. These matters were to have been discussed at the last regular meeting of July 17th, but the members of the school Board did not attend. Kenneth Hageman and H. J. Koppelman appeared before the ~e~uneil in this connection, with Hag~m~.n as the spokesman. Hageman stat~;d that the school bein.~ outside the City limits should not have to purchase a building permit which has- been requ~st~d by the City, in the amount of ~1,339i25, Ha~eman also stated that the plumber had contacted the City Engineer, and received permission to hook oM to the sewer. Ron Bentsen, City ~ngine~r, stated that he had liven no Such permission. Hageman stated that the contractor had made no provisz~ns in his bid fmr this ermit, and that the sehoml board would have to pay it, if ~ihe 6ity insisted. City ~gineer stated that it is standard worclin.g in the contract that the contractor pay all n~cegs~.ry license fees and building ~nermi~s. ~ Hageman stated that as it a1.1 came from the taxpayers anyway, it did not matter one way or the other. However, it was felt that the distribution of the money was more badly needed in the City Fundy than in the achool District Funds. Several times curing the meeting president of the council was f~rc~d to get the discussion back mn the subject as the ~ehool board kept continually bringing in other issues, such as excess charges for school water bills, and excess chaEges for garbage and other things. Hageman felt that they School should pay for the w~.t~r and sewer hook-up charges in an amount not tm exceed the charges made for a re~idenc~. As this charge i~ X75.00 per lot for a residence, the charge for this hook-up would bey in the neighborhood of ~1,5~0.00. Ruff stated that the Counei7. voted unanimously at the last regular meting of the council tk~at the City should require som€~body to pay this building permit f~ea and the pity would a11mw the City water and '~i.ty ~~w~r hook-ups. i"~ter much discussion, motion was made by Nave and seconded by Wilson, that the f~rm~r decision of the council stand. Mention carried. There being no ~zrther business to come before the council at this time, motion was duly made and seconded that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried. .
