HomeMy WebLinkAboutCemetary Commission Minutes 10.24.1991 MINUTES OCT. 24, 1991 TIME 4:35 P.M. PLA~E OF NEETING CITY HALL NEIqBERS PRESENT: O'J_'HISR~ S PRESENT: CN~IRNAN - NOP, F~ ORR LLOYD SHAY BRUCE TEE'r~S LEE BARNDT SHARON ItHRMAN JIM WORTHINGTON A quorum (3 or more) present, the following action was taken by the committee: There was discussion regarding the sequence of selling cemetery lots. Recently there were some problems when the Philhower family wanted to buy lots at the very back of Section "B". They claim they were promised these lots a long time ago. The committee re-affirmed their previous decision that lots must be sold in order and not "helter-skelter" throughout a section. Discussion regarding burials following a weekend or holiday. It was suggested that a schedule of City Holidays be sent to all the funeral homes in the area informing them that the city must be notified of a burial by at least noon on the working day prior to a weekend or holiday. Winter months may require additional time. In the event of the above, an afternoon burial would be preferred if at all possible. It was also suggested that a notice be sent to the monument companies reminding them that they need to contact the city for prior approval before setting any monuments, headstones or footstones. Lloyd Shay will contact the American Legion to see if the Veterans want to continue going north with the Veterans plots or if they want to move to the East. There being no further business at this time the meeting was adjourned at 5:10 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Sharon Herman Deputy City Clerk
