M., on Tuesday, November 19, 1963. Upon faking roll call the following aldermen answered present: Gerald Z. Gass E. H. Ebersvillcr~ fir. Kenneth Olson Ed LeuthaZd William Palm Cecil Nave Jacob Ruff Minutes of the previous meeting were r~~.d. Motion was made by Eber~- viller and seconded by Nave that the minutes be ~.pproved as read. Motion car- ried. Deitz Rice Motors Wh~r~upon the Mayor declared a 15 minute recess to cons3.der these bids. Upon re- ~onvening the meeting, Cha,~rman Ruff reported that the dec~.sion was to check these trucks out before deciding on eithr of them. Thy City Clerk to write a l~tt~r to a17. paxti~s involved whin there is a date set. The Mayor then appointed the City Engineer end the purchasing committee for ~Y115 consideration. Motion was then made by ~bersviller and seconded by Palm that this committ€:~ be given the authority to act. Motion carried. After dis~ussian of the bid on the fire truck, motion was made by Ruff and seconded by ~bersviller that the council accept the bid of Seagrave United from Jackts Fire Service. Motion carried. Dewey Nunn has reported that the lif'~ station was satisfactory now aril the Counc~.l :should okay the payment of the remaining claims to Drake Henne and Black & Veatch for the Sewage Disposal P1an-G. Motion was m~.de to this effect by Palm and secanded by Ruff. Motion carried. Report of th€~ Police Judges was presented for approval. Motion was made by Olson and seconcl.ed by Palm that this report be approved. Mot:.on carried, Treasurerts r~pnrt, cash report were presented. Niotion was made by Ruff and seconded by Olson that these reports be ~,pprovr~d. Motion carried. Discussion about a pump and motor at the water plant. Motion was then made by Eber~viller and seconded by Ruff that the water committee study the pos- sibilities of this pump and motor with authority to act. Motion carried. City Engineer reported on the perforated pipe that was placid in the river to relieve the slush icy probl~,m. The Mayor reported that Joe Nicholas John J. Raley and himself would be attending the water and sewer works meetings. T~bersviller reported that the eomm~ttee on the ~s~entislube product felt that this would be a good in~e~tment. Motion was made by Ruff and seconded by pa7.rn that this product be pruchased. lotion carried. Eb~rsviller reported chat the Insurance Cammi~tee was still working; on. the problem. R~.ff reported that the street lights were remaining off for too long a period. Moti~an was made by Ruff and seconded by Ebers~r3.ller that the problem of street light be resterred to the Police Committee. Notion carried. Ruff r~por-~ed on certain alleys that needed gravel and le~reling. Ruff st~.tPd that our Equipmea~t should be overhauled. Disaussi~n of the traffic ligh-~ at the corner of Penney~s store. Motion w~.s made by Ruff and seconded by Leuthold that; this matter be referred to the pol- ice eommitte€~. Motiion carried. After discussion motion w~,s rnad~ by Nave a.nd seconded by Gass that three, new be purchased and pai..d for from the Street Fund. RZot~on carried. There being no further business to come before the Council, motian way made and seconded that the meeting be adjourned.
