7230 o'clock, P. M,, on Tuesday, May 7, 1963.
The Mayor anc~ all aldermen then took the oath of Offic~, this bei.n~ the
first order of basiness.
Upon taking roll call the follmwing aldermen answered t~r~sent:

The next order of business way the Police car. This being the time and

These being the only bids, tY~e Mayor referred this matter to the Polio
anal Finance Committees, and then adjourned the meeting for l~ m~nut~~ for con~id-
eration of these bids.
Upon re-convening the meeting Aldermen 03.son recommended that the Council
honor the low bid and purchase the car from the Modern Chevrnl~t. Motion was made
by Ruff and seconded by Nave that the recommendation of the co~unittee be accepted.
Motion earried.
The Mayor called upcan the City Clerk to read the list of his appoirtments,

Minutes of the City Council of Laurel
and wi~h~d t.o appeal the Green River Zaw~ and pay her licnese fee by the month.
After much discussions Alderman Olson recommended that P7rs. O~Rourke purchase her
licenses and be r~;minded that she was subject to fine if sh.e did not.
Chief of Polices Gaston appeared before the Council and asked permission
to leave the State. Notion was made by Ruff and seconded by Leuthold that per-
misszon be granted. ?~~otion c~.rried.
Lenhardt appeared before the Council on behalf of the Junior Chamber of Commerce to a.sk that the J.C.'s be allowed to use Athletic Field on the dates of
NZay 10th and May 18th, wpathc:r oermitt~_ng for a track meet. ~Zotion was made by
Kaiser and seconded by Ebersviller that permission be granted' provided that if
the light axe used, the City be paid for them at the rate o£ X8.00 per hour. Motion
carried.
ibersvill~r stated that he felt the City was le~ing revenue by only
allowing the irrigation rate from May through September. He stated that people would
use=~ a lot more water if the lowest rate ~rere from April through October. The Mayor
stated that this irrigation matter be rsf~rred to the Water Committee.

Ol~.an that this resolution be passed. and adopted. Upon taking roll call vote, all
aldermen. present voted "eye", ~.nd said resolution was declared passed and adopted.
Request for Riverside Park for a public dance was presented. NToti~n was made by Ruff and seconded by Nave that permission b~ granted. Motion cara~ied.
In t~iis same connection the Police are to be informed to close the dance
at 2 o'clock A. M.~ unless those who have rented the hall to make arrangements to
pay them for extra time.
