PLACE OF MEETING - CITY }{ALL MEMBERS PRESENT: OTHERS PRESENT: A quorum (3 or more) committee: Albert Ehrlick, Lloyd Shay Lee Barndt Cathy Gabrian Chairman John Minch Chuck Rodgers present, the following action was taken by the The committee had a request from the Pastor of Grace Bible Church to hold their Easter morning service at the cemetery. He would like to use a tent or windbreak as shelter and they would use an open or undeveloped area of the cemetery for the service. Discussion by the committee and they felt there was no problem as long as they stay away from the graves. Motion by Albert Ehrlick to allow Grace Bible Church to use the cemetery for their Easter service if they keep away from the graves, seconded by Lloyd Shay. Motion carried. Discussion regarding the Veteran's section of the cemetery. Lloyd stated that it took approximately 50 years to fill the four rows in the old vets section. We opened the new vets section three years ago and the first row is almost filled. Lee stated the reason for this is that the World War II vets are getting up there in age. Lloyd suggested that we increase the new vets section by two rows. Cathy stated that we only have five graves left to sell in Section B before we move into this section where the vets are located. If we are going to set aside additional rows, we need to do it now. Motion by Albert Ehrlick to set aside two more rows for veterans in Section J, seconded by Lloyd Shay. Motion carried. Chuck commented that the little evergreens that were planted next to the cemetery shop are doing well. A lot more survived than we anticipated and it was stated that we need to have a plan for using these trees in the future. One suggestion was that we use them for a wind break to the north side of Section B in addition to planting some in designated tree areas.
