The minutes of the previous meeting were re~.d. Motion way made by
Kaiser and seconded by Nave that the minutes b~ approved as read. Motion
carried.
ilex Frank and Bill Bernhardt appeared before the Council to state
that th~r~ is drainage ditch which runs ~zrider the railroad track fram the
West of towns down toward the river. A~ i~ goes aero~~ the Bernhardt property
the ditch runs over x.11 the time. This ditch i~ used partially ~s a spillway
by the Itali~.n Ditch Company. Rufg Stated that h~ ~*ould like to appoint a eomin3.ttee tc~ work with the Cit~r ~ngine~r, and the Cit~r ~t~~rney to ~?~ct and
come back to the Council with a r~comtnendation. ~e:~.th~n~.~ppointed Gays, Nave
Wilson and Kaiser for this eo~un3.ttee. Motion was ~ad~ by Edwards and ~eeondad
by Rome ghat this com~3.ttee b~ approved and apppi~t~d w3.th authority to met.
Motion carried.
Application far employment fpm Wayne 0. Foss was presented. Motion
was made by Kaiser and seconded by Gass to plae~ th3.s application on file.
Motion Carried.
Letter from HilYaar ~Iaage req~~~ting permission to take his vaeat3on
~ra~ presented. Motion was made b~ Edwards end ~teeonded by Ga~~ that these
matters in the future be referred to the Police Comm3.t~ee and the Chief of PoZic~. Motion carried.

Edwards reported that about a year ago the City way giv~an thr~~ civil
defense kits which he picked up in Billings. The cominit~ee in B3.lling~ than
asked the return oP these ki~~ so that they might be gent in and re-calibrat~ad. He atat~d that they have nod yet be~~. sent in and aree still in the office in
Billings.

Cash ~.nd cash 3.tems as shown in the body of this report were verified by
direct inspection. Bank balances were verified bye correspondence with ~h~ d~- po$itory bank. Fundy on deposit in the depo~it~r~ bank were amply prot~:cted
by pledged securities, supported by custodian r~eeipt~, and by guarantee of the
~'~deral Deposit Insurance Corporation.
TnveStm~nts were verified by direct examination and proper authorisation for
these inv~s~ments h~~ been given through minute entry by the Council.
Clare were examined end appear to be in food order, prAperly itemized, signed
and approved.
Minutes of the meetings of the City Council mere writt~±n up to dates properly
signed and attested.
Cash fund balances of the City Clark were in agreement with the records of the
City Treasurer.

Kaiser stated ghat he would like to eflmmend the pity Engin~esr on ~
savings of ~82~.93 on thy: Sewage Di.zposal Plant project. City Engineer ~~port-

The parking of cars and trailers on the s~r~et~ of Laurel ryas dis-
cus~ed at length. Tt was augge~ted that this ordinance be amended or at least modified. Ruff reeommend~d that this b~ returned to the Citg Attorney for
report. Motion was made by Romer and seconded by Edwards that the ordinance
be r~turrs~d for amending or el~rification. Motion carried.
Romee draught up the subject of the Russell Barr ~'o~ndation~ and
asked that the Co~cil take a stand. After discussion motion wag made by Navy and seconded by Romer th~.t the City ~igineer be instructed to Mick,with the
building code, and that it Should be enforced. Motion earri~d.
Ruff brought up the subject of tY~e intake pier. H~ recommended that
the m~mb~r~ of the Council investigate this matter and get ready to do ~om~thing
about this a~ soon as the high water time is past. Ga.~~ suggested that the
Council think about extending the wing on the pier about 25 or 30 feet.

Garbage land fill gate eras di~cuss~d. Citg ~ngine~r Mated that this
