Certain reporta of the City of Laurel ~rere presented for approval. as follows : Tre a~urer ~ s reports ~ City Clerks Cash Reports Clarks Trail Balance . Motion w~.~ modes by Ruff and s~seanded by Ebersviller that these reports be apprc- v~d. Motion parried. Davy Powers and Guy Stormont appeared before the Council W3.t1~ certain plans idea, and proposals regardir~ the Airport. Cert~3.n p~rgons would be w3.lling to pay a rental o~ ~~Q~.00 per year for aten-year l~:ase, a.~d ~.fter ghat t3~ie would pay ~8~b.OC} when tY~e new ~n way i~ built. Whey would ].ik~ an op~ioa to lease mother 20 years:~t the same price. The City would b~ obligated tm put in a ~aell~ a~ ~n approximate cost of ~3,4~~.00. After diac~.ssion~ ~otipn was made by Ebersvill~r that the Council apprav~ of these ideas with the nnd~r- star~ing that the pity d~e~ not go ahead with the well unless th~r~ i~ definite ~.ssurance that the building ~ri.ll b~ built. R~.ff asked to repc~~ on the ~l~.sh ice p~vblem. Ruff reported ghat the eommitt~e w~,s of the same opinion as it was befor~~ would continue to recommend bt~ryin~ the t~k to reli~;ve this problem. After di~cu~sio~ motion was made by Nav~? and seaond~d by Lenthold th~.t the recom~er~d~.~ion of the water ~o~xunittee b~ approved. Motion carried. Mayor motioned a reg~l~.tor at the S~~aag~ Dispos~.l P1sAt. This matter w~.s ~tuxn~d over to the Sewer Committee and the City Engineer to inve~tig~,te the cost of such ~ regulator. T'alm suggested sending the City En~~.n~er ~a tY~~ dater and Sewer ~ee~- ing for one dayr. Motion waa made by Ruff aid seconded b~+ Eb~r~viller that t~.e City Engineer b~ allowed to g~ to the r~e~ting on Thtarsday, and that he be paid mileage. Mcat~.on carri~a. He reported that the water meter was tested axed th~.~ it way found to be runn3.ng 2~~ slaw. Leger o~ explanatimn to be written to the Redmans. Mayer and City Engineer reported mr~ the drain and ditches. Copt would b~ about ~106.0~ per lot. Ruff r~ao~me~cled that the persons ~.nvoi~a ~ho~ld pre- ~ent a petition to the Council to regtaeat a Special Improvement District. Eb~rsviller reported that thes Latar~l Volunteer Fire~ne~ would like to na~~ the ~~a.ll park belonging to the N. P. as ~Fir~men~s Park11. Since the park i Minutes of the City Council of Laurel dc~s not belong to t'~e City, this name would a0t be official. However, after d3~c~ssion, notion was wade grid ~eeoxuled that this paz~k b~ unofficially named "Fix'entei~ t ~ Park" , Eb~rsvil.l~r reported a trailer house on First S~Gr~et and Third Avenue that ~ra~ mbstr~cti~g tY~e view. Matter tur~a~d over to tM~ Poliee. Navy r~port~d that the Police Department should have a current li~~ of all dog and bicycle licenses. He stated that this List r~a,~ not aurre~at. The matter of the East End Skating Rink to be tarried over ~o the Park Committae. Investigate the putting up of a little b~.ilding. Them being no fFarrth~r bt~~iness to come before the Cmuneil a~ this time, taotion Tetas duly made and seconded that the meeting be ad~ourr~d.
