January 28 , 1997
Meeting called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Chairman John Smith.
Members present ; Bob Spannagle,Bob Western , Roy Zahm,Bill Brennan
Guests present ; Kent Potter , Frank Felke , Jim Roberts ,
John Ostlund , Craig Canfield , four others
Minutes of the November , 1996 meeting were approved as read.
Bills presented were ;
Interstate Engineering services '5,620.00
Moved by Brennan , seconded by Western to pay bills. Passed.
Craig Canfield reported that land appraisal was complete and
the land owners have been contacted,
Right of way on affected State land may take 3 to 5 months but
is not neccasary before construction.
Geotechnical work ( test holes , etc ) is done.
Preliminary plans are 60 ~ complete.Horizontal planning is done,
vertical is next.
Reviewed future hangar area proposal.
Construction now hinges onland acquisition. If there are no
problems with the land owners ( ha ) we could advertise for bids
by March 23 , open bids on April 22 and construction could begin
by May 26.
The State says that there is no problems with a grant and loan.
Discussed parking ramp extension as proposed, We do not want to
enlarge the ramp to the south as this would eliminate any vehicle
parking as well as destroy our park..
Paving the access road will not be eligible for Federal funds.
Jim Roberts ,M.P.A. President , requested permission to erect
a 4 by 8 foot sign at the entrance to the Airport.Pending.
They have a septic tank permit for the proposed Pilot's Lounge.
Snow removal has been a problem this winter,We need some help
from our "renters". Truck needs repairs . Roy will take it to
