Trarvin Garter az>pcared before she council r~gardir~~ the leasing of
I3.~verside Hall to the Junior Chamb~r.° of Commerce. Thera ~~a~ rn~zch discussion on this subject, and several motions made but not seconded. Gass recommended

the motion tc, drop the lase alt~~ether. Seconded gay EdT,aards. After mare
dis~u.ssion tY:e motion was brought to a vote, and the mc~~ia.n pa~~ed wi-~h Yov~tich
voting F9No~4.
Carter asked the I~~yor to a~~oin-t a new eammittee to reconsider this
mater. The :~Ia.~r~r then appointed Bradford Gass and Kaiser. The J.C.1s then
asked tee be alloraed -to have the Riverside *ia~l for .Iuly 7th _ 71st _ ~?n~1 _ ane3 2~rr~
After discuss ern motion was made by ~ls~n and seeonc~~:d by Gass that these dates
be allowed the J. C. ~ s at no f'~e except for the cleaning ~~a.
Bradford reported on ~~o:s walks and signs,
Bradiard stated that he would l~.ke the council to ~o on record as commerdin:g various local organizations fnr the wonderful Fourth of Ju1~r celebration
held Mere ~..r. Laurel. H~ men~ianed specifically the Volunteer E'ir~men, the
Chamber of Comr~:erce, the J.C. ~s and the S~.3dle Club. 1~Sotion made to this e~'fect

Edwards sated t~lat children are sw~r~ming n~the barrow pit south of town. Since this property is ou-ts~dE the city limits, this matter will be
brou~,ht ~a -t~~ attention of Frank Hartley. plson stated that the city patrolmen
are not obligatr~d to k€~ep these ki:As out of the barrow pit.

Kaiser asked if the city had any place to dump car bodies. It was tP~e opinion of most of the council that it not bc~ allowed. Motion w~.s made by
Blaek and seconded by Gass that -this dumping not be allowed at our land fill.
Motion carriEd.
Parker reported on the Plumbing, Electrical anc~ V~ntin~ Board meeting.
He stated that the Board r~c~mm~nded employing T,es Stoltz a~ this inspector. Parker stated Ghat Mack had voted ~?no~, on this recommendateion. Bradford asked
Stoltz if he i.ntend~sd coming into the city limits, and was teld that hc~ wauld
when the t3.me camm~. l3ra~iors~ also asked Black his reason far vntin~ 'tno" to the
recomroe~~dat~.on of t~l~ Board. Bla¢;k ~tat~d that he felt that G`rotia should be
kept ern a.s electrical. inspector. Fark~r made the motion, seconded by ~'dwards
that Stoltz be employed ~n this capacity. Roll ca11 vote was requested and +a.ken follows : Bradford t4110"' Gass ~~yes14, Edwards, ?~yes'1, Olson ~~no", Black
"no", Kaiser "no", Parlor, «yes", Yovetich,"y~s~~. There being a tie vote, the
~JTay~x°i~as called upon to break the die, which he did by voting "yes".

by Olson and seconded by Black that the recommexidations ~s~ the Board be adopted. Motion carried. :~l~o discussi.on that the code lie amended to include the
~_nch pipe be installed fro*~a the house instead of 3~~ inch pipe. Motion was made
~o this ~ff~c~ b~ Yo~etich and seconded by Black that phis amendment be accep~t~d..

Yovetich reported on the drain ditch next to Foxts property. City Engineex was autrior?zed to clear this ditch of the eat t~.il.~.
