Upon taking r411 gall the following Aldermen answered present: Roy Edwards J3.m 5out~hworth Roy Horning Louis Yoveticzh E. H. Fb~rsvill~r~ Sr. Dick Black The minutes of the previous re~ul.ar meeting of August 1st were read. Motion was made by Black ~.nd seconded by 5outhworth that the minutes be approved ~.s read. Motion e~,rried. 1'h~ minutes of the prev~:ous special meeting of August 3rd wire read. Motion was made by Horning and ~ecQnded by Edwards that these minutes b~ approved as read. Motion e~rri~d. Motion carried, with Yovetieh m~,k3.ng another motion, seconded by Black that a letter. oP appreciation b~ written to Mr. Scott for 2~ years of service with the Department. Motion carried. A letter was read from Wm Reinhart, County aani~arian, diving a report on hi$ i.r~sp~ctions 3n the pity of Laurel. Motion way made by Black and seconded by Yovetich that this report b~ accepted and plae~d an file. Motion carried. The Mayor stated that since the matter need ~ come up at the present time, it should be turned over to the City Attorney, the City Engineer, and the City Cl~+rk. The Mayor thin appointed Gerry Gass, Dick Black and Roy Edwards to work with the others and to report b~.ek at the nest meting. ftepor~ of the Health Officer was pre~~nt~d. Motion way made b~ Black and seconded by Edwards that this report b~ approved. Motion c~rri~d. Utter way read from the Mate Board of H~a7.th re~ardin~ cor~ditio~~ on the water system, swimm~r~ pool, end the garbage and r~fug~ disposal areas. Daley reported on th3~. The Mayor 3ntrodueed a Mr. Clark from Big Ti.~b~r who i~ peeking ~ 13.een~~ from the Gity to do business within the City of ~;atarel regarding cable telev3.sion. Thy Mayor then atatQd that lie way going to appoint another committee on this matt~,r. He paid that the new eommitt~~ would bps Gerry Gaa~, Lour Yove~ich, ~.nd he, himself, would serve on this committee. Henry Ryc3.~r, Sonny d~Day and Walt Menello spoke a~ai.n~t the amendment. Sauth~orth and 7Cove~ieh spoke for t~,e amendment, arzd Dick Black a~ain~t. after discussion, motion was made by So~thworth that the amendment be adopted. Seconded by Yovet eh. Paul ~~~~'l~ then stated that he would place a t~No ~anein~" sign in hip ~;st~blishm~n~~ and requested that th~r~ be no danoin~ in ~n$ of the ~~tabl3.shment~, and r~quest~d that the ordinance now in effect be strictly enforced. Southworth reported that h~ had met with the school board and it has a~;r~ed to p~.y ~0~ of thy, cast of the tennis court re-surfacing, to a max3xaum !I of ~6~0.00. Southworth reported that h~ had gent nine l~tt~rs regarding certain ha~ard~ around town, ar~d that he had received aet~~:on from t~ao. He states to give the others- a little more time. Motion carried. Black reported on the insect sprays and suggested th~.t po~~ibly the. C3.ty go back to the aeri.s~l spraying. After much di~cussion~ the Mayor appointed John Daley to start corre~pond~nce on better chemical' and eo~ts, etc. Minutes of the City Council of Laurel Ebersv3.ll~r mentioned rural fire department. He Mated that some of the garm~rs would l.ik~ to see this question r~v3.ved. Br~dl~y Mated that ~h3.s would need to come before thc~ Coursty Commissioners, end that the farmers th~m~elv~s should appoint a committee to meet with the commissioners. It was suggested that a new fire hall be seriously considered in time to possibly put the question on the ballot at the primary ~l~etion in the Mp g. Eb~rsvill~r reported on ~evc~ral salary matters. After discussion, motion was made by Yo t3.eh that the Mayor appoint a eammitte~e to work on this. The Mayor Mated that this was a utter for the fin~nee committee. ~bersvill~r ~~ated that thv mileage allowance for the A1.d~rm~n eould b~ increased. Ebersviller is to work on this matter along with they Finance committee and report at the next meting. Yove~tieh reported on the Water Reservoir Cc~~nmittee..meetin~. Da1~y reported on this a1~o. After discussion, motion w~~ made by Yovetieh to do like Daley says. Seconded by Black who paid what~v~r that was. Motion earri~d.
