Olson, at 7:3~ o~~la~~s P•~•s ors ~'uesday~ 4etober 15~ 1968 Upon taking roll ca11, the follo~r3.ng Aldermen answered present: Gerald f~as~ Walter Parker Louis Yovetich Roy Horning E. H. Ebersviller~ Sr. Jamey Sout~wor~h Lyle Jones Minutes of the previous regular meeting were read. Motion was made ~ by Parker and seconded by Eb~rs~riller that the rn3.nutes be approved a~ read. Motion carried. Treasurer's Reports Clerkts Trial Balance, and Cash Report ~a~re i presented for apprc3vral. Motion etas made bar Ebersviller, and seconded b~ Gass that the repox~s be approved. lotion caxried. Police reports of Anderson and Lenh~rdt were presented. Motion was made b~ Eb~rsviller and seconded by South~orth that tY~e reports be approved. Motion carried. There way discussion about purchasing tires fc~r the Paliee Car'. Mr. Charles Rymer addressed tYx~ Council asking if there was something the Cotax~cil could do to save the lilac bushes that are boardering his property and the Bark's property behind City Ha11. He stated the Ba~.k wi~Y~es to make w ieh this property into a parking lot and would probably remove the la.lacs h would defame Mr. ft~mer's property. After discussions, the Mayor appointed a committee of Parker, Gassy and Ebersviller to talk to Bank officials abo~zt either selling Mr. Rymer 3 feet of this property or not removing the lilac bushes. Southworth asked if anything had. been done about getting Auxiliary Police to work with the Patrolmen on weed-Ends. Ebersviller and Gass reported that the subject had been tabled by the Alaxiliary Police until their were a further notified by the Ghief. Southworth made the ~c~tian that thy: City write the Jaycees a letter i of cpmmendation for painting the ball park fence acid bleachers. Parker seconded and the motion carried. There was discussion on painting the name nCity cif Laurels' on the rPServoi.r. Daley will cheek into the matter. The ~~syor stated that Tom Pri11 would buy materials i~ the City would cover the drain that runs -~hro~zgh his propert~r at 6th & 7th Streets on 8th Avenue. After discussion, the Mayor appointed the First Ward Alderrr~~n to make a study of -the matter anal report back at the next meeting. The Mayor stated that Frank Grabus would like the City to fence off a section at the landfill and put up a "Keep Outs' sigma to stop people f"nom stealing his salvage. After discussions the Mayor stated he ~rould get several Aldermen and talk to Mr. Grabus. Daley repe>x~ted that the sign machine eras demonstrated yesterday and they want $175.00 or $15 .00. Gass added that the salesman guaranteee~ the company would give the City $100.0a for the machine no matter what condition it was in on a trade-in. ~a1ey was given permission to ~o ahead and ~urehase the maehine~ at a previous meeting. There being no further business to come before the Gouneil a~ this times motion was duly made and seconded that the meeting be adjourned. Motion caxried. lease R.
