A regular meting of the !pity `Council of the City of L~ur~l, Mont~na~
waa held in the Council chambers and w~,s c€a11~d to order by Mayor Kenneth
Olson, at 7s3~ o~clock, P.M., ors Tu~~day~ g~bruary ~0, 1968.
Upon taking roll ea1.1 the .f~ :lowing Ald~r~nen answered pr~s~nt:

The mutes of the precious reg~l~.r ~t~eting of February 6tM were
read. Motion was made by Black that the m3.nut~t~ b~ approved with a correction
in the paragraph that reads "~outhworth reported he thought the removal of the City Barn should b~ let on b3~d~. After di~cu~sion the ~ub~eet was tabled until
Spring," be changed to rem~d ~r~outhworth r~part~d he thought the PE'.TE1~481. off' the
City Barn should be lit on bids. After di~cu~~3.on the Cty Clerk wa,s instructed
to write letters to parties who would be inter~s~ed and who do this type of
wort." So~thworth seeond~d and the motion carried.
City Treasurerts Financial ~tateme~t way presented for approval. Eb~rsviller made; the motion the report be approved. Black sceond~d. Motion
carried.
The City Health Offieer~s r~g~ort was presented. Black made ~h~
emotion the report be approved. ~ber.~viller seconded ~.nd ~h~ motion carried.
~,eonard Fiehtr~er and Gary Pfaff ~ddre~aed the council and asked
for permission for the I~a~.r~1 Jayeee:s ~o use the bill p~.rk in April or May,
Yov~tieh made the motion that the Park Committee~worl~ with the J~~c~e~ on
this req~e~t with permia~ion to act. Eber~vill~±r seconded and the motion
carried.
Several b~.rbers from ~a~.rel addressed the Council protesting the
adop-~ion of Ordinane~ No. 581. After much discu~aion, the motion was made
by 5o~thwarth that the mater be tabled until the next regular meeting.

Ji.m Huff addressed the Council requesting a refund on hip garbage as~es~ment on his 1967 taxes, stating he was being ov~:rcharged. After much
discussion, Southworth made the motimn his r~que~t be denied, E31ack seconded.
Motion carried.
Harold Gaston asked permission to 1e~.ve the S-~at~. Black made the
motion and Eb~r~viller seconded that perrris~i.on be ~ranteci.. Motion carried.
Yovetich stated that Rmy 5andman~s wife had walked into ~ pole that
3s in the middle of the sidewalk on 8th Street. The Third Ward A1d~r~an were
appoir~t~d to look into the matter.
Where etas discussion on purch~.sirig Minch pips to be laid across the
giver. Daly was given p~rmiasion to ptarehase the pipe.
Black reported that the p'i.r~ ?epartment h~.d ~.pproved the resignation
of Clinton Anderson. Z'he Clerk was instructed to ~rrit~s a letter of thank you
to Mr. Anderson.
Blaek Mated that Mike Naglich l~~.d ~sk~d if something cQUlel be done
about Wa~~ing the streets or flushing the sewers to remove the dirt ~'rc~m the
downtown district. Daley will look into the matter.

Bradley ~omm~snded Dorothy Bundy for a goad, fob done on the work that
was involved with the water reservoir.
2'h~ Mayor announe~d the ~ppointmen~ of .Dewey Nunn a~ ~.D. Flant
superintendent and at budget time a rare be given. Black made the motion that
the M~.~or appointment be approved. Eb~rsvill~r seconded. I~otior~ parried.
Yov~tieh made the emotion that thank ya~a letters be ~tritten to the
County Gommissioner~, Treasurer and As~~~sor for their aoop~r~.tion in s~1.ling license plates in Laurel. Ebersviller seeanded. Motion c~.°ried.
