Upon taking ro11 call the following aldermen answered presents Rov Horning Jackson Parker Lyle Jones Garry Gass E. H. Ebersvil.7_~r John ~3eslanwitch Louie Yovetich The minutes of the previous meting were read. Motion was made by Fbersviller and seconded by Horning that the minutes b~ approved as read. Motion carried. Witter was read from the City-Golznty Air Pollution Board. ~,s Follows z The Hcanorable Mayor and Members o~ the City Council of Laurel, Montana Dear Mayor, and Gentlemen: Pursuant to the ~rishes of the Yellowst~r~e County ~3oard of County { Commissioners, who a.d,~pted the Billings-Laurel-Yellowstone Counter Air Po11ution Control Program ~n Nov~mb~~ 25, 1969, the City Couc3.3 of Laurel, Montana is hereby requested to approve said program ar~d convey Said approval to the County Commissioners aforesaid. Parlor that the r claims b~ approved far payment. Motion carried. t Rohr Harnin~ reported that the committee would recommend that for i the present the cross walks at the schoo?~~- could be re-fainted until such time a~ further action could be taken f. or pedestrian and traffic control. Frances Fisher asked permission t~ leave the Stag . Motion wa$ made by Beslanwitch and s~;conded by Ebersviller that permission be granted. Lotion carried. City Engineer reported replacing a culvert a~ the South Park. Yovetich asked about toilet facilities at the South Park. Mayor reported on this. C3.ty Engineer r~port~d that this facility requires a seven-inch line. Yovetich stated that a hump was requested on f'if'th Avenue. After much discussion, motion was made by Yovetich and. seconded by BeslanwitGh that ` a hump be p1~.c~d on Fifth Avenue, and the location to 1~~ left 'to the dis- x eretion of the First Ward Aldermen and the City Engineer. Motion carried. i There was discussion as to encroachments on Main S-~ree~. No d~ei~ion. j Yovetieh reported on the ~arba~e situation. He stated th~.t hA would like to het the garbage rates compiled in simplified form, and have this published in the paper. Everyone is in fauor of this. The Mayor stated that some people wanted their ~arba~e can lids put back on the cans, and some df them wanted them left off. He su~Qested th~.t the residents paint the words either "on'f or R~offr~ so that the garbage " men would know what the residents wished. Af-~er discussion, motion was made by Beslanwitch and seconded by Jones that the resident stencil either one ' or the other on their can. Motion carried. 1 Jim Huff appeared. at the council meeting main, and asked for a progress report on the ~arbaae committee's finding, and also about Park food and Franks Grocery. Daley reported on this. The Mayor renortcd on Water Mains at River~i_de Park. 1 There being no further business to come before the council a~ th.is ~'essian, motion was duly made and seconded that the meeting be adjourned.
